Player names - is there an easier way to edit them?

I changed a load of player names and it reverted back to the default when I ran the patch. I can't be bother to use the controller to change them again. Is there a file I can edit or has somebody out there already amended the names. If so, what file are they stored in? and can the file be emailed to me?

Also, why didn't the UC developers allow the users to type in the names - seems strange.

Yeah it is VERY annoying being not able to just type the names.It's not a console game is it....

Check the thread called 'editting'. It's all in there.

Alternatively get hold of your savedata.dat assuming you haven't already overwritten it and change the first 4 bytes (the version information) and set each one to 0xff (or 255). This may crash the game so make a backup first.
