or currently have laws banning Muslim headgear - i.e. France,

that has absolutely nothing to do with racism. On the contrary, it's a measure to ensure equality in the schools.

It's not racism; it's religious discrimination.

Posters call for 'Aussie riots' in NZ

http://www.theage.com.au/news/World...sie-riots-in-NZ/2005/12/14/1134500909314.html

Posters inciting racial violence and calling for an "Australian style" riot in New Zealand have received condemnation from the nation's politicians.

The posters, pasted up at Wellington railway stations, called for New Zealanders to show "white power".

They follow a weekend race riot in Sydney's south and days of apparent payback attacks across several south-east suburbs.

"If Sydney can do it so can we ... let's take back our land" the posters say.

"There is much to admire about Australia but copying the stupid attitudes of drunken thugs at Cronulla in Sydney is not the way forward for a peaceful New Zealand," he said.

"When the police catch up with these idiots, I hope part of their punishment will be a lesson in New Zealand's demographic trends which will show them they're fighting a losing battle."

The NZ National Party was also quick to condemn the posters.

"There is no place in New Zealand for these kinds of threatening, inflammatory actions," party leader Don Brash said.

"The idea that some people cannot have the same depth of feeling for this country because of the colour of their skin is bigoted nonsense."

The posters were pasted up on Wednesday at railway stations in Wellington's western suburbs, Johnsonville and Khandallah and have been attributed to white supremacist group - White Crusaders of the Racial Holy War.

Dr Brash said the group was "a small, fascist underbelly, hell-bent on causing division and destroying New Zealand's egalitarian ethos ... they are thugs and bigots".

Race Relations Commissioner Joris de Bres said he had not heard of the group.

But he was not surprised it existed in NZ.

A number of race hate incidents had occurred over the past year, including the vandalism of Muslim places of worship in Auckland and letters of abuse being stuffed with pork and sent to Wellington Muslims, he said.

"There are people in New Zealand who have the kind of views evident in Australia. But they have never had much of a following in NZ," de Bres said.

The White Crusaders' internet website says the movement is broadly based on the writings of Ken Klassen, the founder of Creativity, a religion dedicated to the survival, expansion and advancement of "our race exclusively".

It believes whites are royalty and shuns race mixing or any social intercourse whatsoever with "the inferior mud races".

How does stopping people from practising their own religion and free choice promote equality>

Just thought of another point unrelated to the above quote. Italy is another very racist country.

What about the inherent racism to gypsies and black beggars around on the streets, none of that in Australia.

To the other dude, it was not the whole crowd, I exaggerated but it was large amounts, I saw a game where you could hear it on ESPN, never ever has a player been racially vilified by such a large proportion in Australia in anything.

Canada is less racist than Australia? I wouldn't know. I'd also assume that you have not lived an extended period of time in Australia, correct me if I am wrong.

And more importantly who the s h i t do all these countries think they are saying Australia is racist, you are all just jealous bums with hidden agendas. I can't help it if some bogans in Sydney attack some Lebanononanianians.

However this being said, I have to play cricket this weekend in Williamstown, right next to the beach, and this area has been marked as a possible spot for a "sydney-style" rally, reportedly by a small groups of retards. Has me a little concerned, me being of "mediterranean or middle eastern" appearance and all. I go down in a blaze of glory... bring it on ****ers.

The prohibition to wear the veil at schools has nothing to do with stopping people from practicing their religion whatsoever. When they leave the school they can put the veil on immediately.

In example christian crosses in neck medals, aren't allowed either, or any other religious symbols. So you see if you consider this an attack or discrimination which is stupid anyway, consider it an attack on religion in general, not islam.

Teachers shouldn't be able to distinguish and mentally separate muslims from catholic students, because they tend to have a different approach to them which can be favouring a group of students at the expense of another group based solely on religion.

If you think this can't happen just put yourself in the teacher's shoes and imagine you're trying to treat girls who have their face totally covered from the ones who don't wear anything, when asking questions etc. I mean you can't even see their facial expressions.

The law prohibiting all 3 (muslim veil, christian cross, jew headwear) is in clear violation of human rights in a number of ways that I don't which to talk about... But even so, the law itself is discriminating against muslims in particular, as it prohibits something essential in one religion, and 2 other optional choices in the 2 other religions. Moreover, it prohibits wearing 'big' crosses. And since only priests wear that (and they r allowed to), no one is actually being harmed other than the muslims... anyway...

And don't try to convince me that when a girl covers her hair, the teacher is like WTF I CAN'T TEACH LIKE THAT!!... And IF it happens to affect the teachers performance, then it definetly will be not FOR the girl's interest, so it IS her choice.

What's next, ask students to conceal the colour of their skin, because "Teachers shouldn't be able to distinguish and mentally separate one group of people from other groups of students".... Com'on.

If any discrimination happens with the headscarf, then it is the teacher's fault, not the student. It's like racial discrimination. You don't ask the black guy to change his skin so as not to be discriminated upon. But to actually MAKE them take it off, or not go to school... that is a dark day for human rights in a so-called civilized culture.

Why are non-Muslim women reguired to wear Burkhas in some islamic countries? Thats violating their beliefs and rights too.

Everything becomes an issue and Allah seems to get involved at the drop of a hat.

Whatever man. Some Muslims need to learn to leave the sand back home instead of carrying it around in their freakin vaginas.

Yes, it's true that making women (muslims or non-muslims) wear burqas is against their rights. But this was Afganistan... they also grow opium as a living. I'm talking about France. Having a law that forces women to uncover their hair is so ridiculously in violation of Human Rights... hell that's not only my opinion, that's what president of Human Rights Watch declared even before the law was approved in France.

And I won't even consider replying to the rest... And speaking of vaginas... oh never mind.

Its not just Afghanistan. I know for a fact that certain other Islamic countries do the same.

When you're in another country, I see no reason why you shouldn't follow their basic norms. If you're going to complain about how the French discriminate in this day and age and make you remove the veil, then you should also look into the fact that in this day and age, veils or burqas are rather primitive.

Religion like laws need to progress with time. Firstly women are subordinate in Muslim countries. Isn't it time they come out of their shell (or burquas in this case) instead of following a set of old fashioned rules which make little sense ?

Why cover up ? I see muslim women go to beaches covered from head to toe. Its really not fair on them. They haven't ever had a voice of their own.

Women were stoned for committing adultery while the men are allowed to have multiple partners. Fair ? Whether you want to accept it or not, Islam is flawed (like evey other religion). You guys dwell on such petty aspects of life. Its unbelievable.

No, it's actually not her choice and that's pretty much a big part of the problem concerning veils in particular, because well I reckon it were the veils that started all this.

Lots of girls that don't want to wear the veil are OBLIGATED to wear it because of the social pressure from the community, yet you fail to acknowledge this because you never see anything wrong with the muslim society, you're perfect in every possible way.

Every year there are thousands of mistreated muslim women in France that can't do absolutely nothing about it because of sociocultural pressures. I'm not saying that the communities condone it. I'm saying they treat violence towards women as their little secret that everyone knows about but no one dares to say. This is a common practice among muslims in France. You can quote the Quo'ran all you want about how Allah condemns it that it won't wont change that fact.
Do I need to say what happens when a woman comes forward and goes to the police?

With this and with other measures the french government is only trying to offer an escape route to some muslim girls before they become full grown women, so they integrate in the school environment like any other girl and maybe just maybe, talk openly about their problems and their pressures openly so they can become more independent and fearless. For the women that want to follow other ways, other than the traditional muslim way, marry, be a housewife and raise a bunch of kids, be allowed to.

If you take this as an attack on Islam, than so be it. The practices that the french government is trying to eradicate shouldn't take place in any developed country regardless of religion.

Who gives a ****? It's their culture, maybe they are happy with the veils; besides, muslim countries are MUSLIM for a reason i.e they don't like western decadence. I see nothing wrong with Islamic countries enforcing their laws on foreigners. IF you don't like it then get the **** OUT! (H)

Your feminist ideas are vile, immoral, elitist, corrupt and on all levels contrary to both human nature, the family unit, and destroys a gender role that is defined by the science of biology according to islamic beliefs. It is also a directionless ideology as most women do not know what they want. They want to be "equal" yet they at the same time want to get special treatment. You cannot have both. I say I'm all for the veil!
