Those are some of the most sickening pictures I have ever seen... the Paris riots seem tame in comparison.
We have to accept that there will be some prejudices, and prejudiced people, in our society, but to see an en masse racial attack like that with hundreds of white youths all attacking or goading one black man is quite shocking, infact I never expected to see anything like it again.
That's the difference between what is happening and Gareth's supposed justification - I have no idea if whether what he says about random attacks from coloured people on white people is true, but one thing is certain, there was never any disgusting huge scale congregation attacks such as these. Those may have been examples of racist and violent individuals, but this is an example of a racist and violent society. It's always a notable issue in racism, undoubtably there are many gangs of violent and racist coloured youths all over the world, I've seen some, but huge elements of white society seem to take their supposed vengeance with huge scale lynchings on, for the most part, innocent blacks.
I just cant fathom how such a large group of people can have such an enormous and shared hatred.

Commissioner Ken Moroney says an ambulance officer was attacked while transferring an injured person and the crowd turned on a woman because of her race.
"That woman was saved, literally saved by the police officers and those officers deserve my highest commendation for the way in which they went about their task," he said.

I saw some footage this morning of a woman being beated by a mob, don't know if it was the same one you mentioned there. Pretty disgusting, there's something about seeing a woman being beaten that just gets you somewhere deep inside. Makes me wish someone was there with an AK-47, all those drunken maniacs needed to be mowed down

What i found so far out about the whole thing is this.In that crowd i saw a few white rastas(well,white boys with dreadlocks anyway),and kids.Kids being encouraged to hit and kick at people being held on the ground.
So now ,at least its all out in the open.The world can see that its happening in Australia.I dont think this comes as much of a surprise though.Shock yeah,it comes as a shock but not a surprise.I remember how a previous Aussie government,not so long ago, kept hundreds of boat people isolated offshore and would not give them aid.It didn't matter that these men women and children were the victims of a disaster and had barely escaped with their lives.They were kept offshore on a boat with no food and no medical aid.The government spokesperson said at the time that anyone trying to reach land would be shot.Thats a fine example to set to people.Fair play this time though.The Prime minister has spoken out about the shame these scum have brought to Australia,and you could see he was deeply shocked and upset.
There are always gonna be more people against racism than for it,wherever you go in the world,we know that.I hope now that measures are put into place to prevent scenes like this happening again.Racist organisations need to be outlawed and humiliated,so that in the eyes of the population they are seen to be the cowardly scum that they are.Catch any one of those dicks on their own and they would run a mile.
Just make sure that all decent Aussies aint painted with the same brush.

Why/how does that even happen there in the first place though? We have fairly large Lebanese populations here, and other Middle-Eastern people as well and I can't even imagine gang rape trips ever happening, it's just inconceivable. Same with white people forming lynch mobs and running out beating bystanders... and our government is pretty soft on crime around here too, it's a joke in fact.
Basically here you have two groups of people who are as just as stupid and idiotic as the other. First of all, you have the white bogan (Aussie lingo for redneck pretty much) and the Lebanese gangs who are basically scum.
As Gareth mentioned 2 lifesavers were beaten by a group of these Lebanese gang members at the beach for no real reason and so the locals (this region is refered to as the shire) who have had to deal with a fair few and increasing amount of attacks over the last few years from these Lebanese gangs, organised a kind of soildarity rally over the weekend. This was pretty much highjacked by white supremacists and drunken youths and rednecks, add to this the fact the local surfie gang (the Maroubra Boys-otherwise known as the Bra Boys, who are quite big) weren't going to take other gangs intruding on 'their' beach or turf if you like, and so there was obviously going to be trouble.
It should also be mentioned that The Shire is an almostly completely anglo area so the locals aren't really used to other people of different ethnicity, and the locals are a bit odd, who are very protective of their area and tend to think of themselves as removed from other Sydneysiders and I tend to agree with that notion. The random attacks that occured on Sunday were quite savage and in most cases were carried out on completely innoncent people and have been rightly condemed. On the following couple of nights there has been reprisals from hundreds of these Lebanese gang members on property of locals (smashed car windows and the like) and attacks on innocents walking around outside by themselves.
Finally, the media has had a large bit to play in this drama by irresponsibly showing the text message of some fools who in their messages had referred to last Sunday as a 'Leb bashing' revenge day which meant white supremicists from outside the local area who hadn't known about it, came down to make it a much larger and rowdier crowd. Hopefully over the next few days the whole situation dies down and order is restored
