Again boca is in the final of an international tournament, they have the Sudamericana in their pocket after the 1-1 in Mexico...

The Conmebol changed the rules of the Sudamericana one hour before the final started...and now the away goals will count like 2 goals if they tie on the global result...that is very responsable, serious and professional from the Conmebol... :kader:

Now i just hope that Gimnasia beat Newells and Independiente beats Boca so this is over...!!!

With 2 sundays left to finish the Apertura here are my Awards:

Best Player: Lucas Lobos (Gimnasia LP)
Revelation: Serguio Aguero (Independiente) and Javier Campora (Tiro Federal)
Disappointment: Jose Saturnino Cardozo (San Lorenzo) and Gustavo Oberman (River Plate)
Best Coach: Pedro Troglio (Gimnasia LP)

I'm not sure if Boca has won the cup already, but eh.
And the CONMEBOL didn't change the rules of the away goals, it has been on for all the matches on this cup, what they actually changed was that the change of dates by Boca made it so the first match was in Mexico and the second match in argentina, when it was going to be vice-versa, that's why some people of Pumas were fairly complaining about the CONMEBOL. In top of that they messed up many matches dates of Argentina.

Well so far the scores of the 8 matches played of the 18th matchday.

Argentinos Juniors vs. Banfield 1-1

In the second division Godoy Cruz became the champion, they had to win it in the last matchday, they won 1-0 over Ben Hur while the other team that had chances, Almagro, lost 2-1 with Unión Sta. Fe. Congrats to "el tomba".:rockman:

That's a middle season thing, since like the Apertura finished and the Clausura didn't start yet, anyway i guess this could be either the end of the diaster or the start of a big chaos at River, Passarella will come in.

From what Gallardo said, he told to Merlo that 90% of the team didn't like his "project", also that Gallardo was about to leave or something, and so Merlo decided to resign. Now i don't know what many of the supposed transfers that were confirmed.

Hey guys I've heard that Castroman or Conca could be moving to Cruzeiro. Castroman is better right? I saw that his contract expired a couple of months ago, it's true that he could be leaving Velez?

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
Many teams of the first division in Argentina are adopting the not selling players to other first division teams, specially the kind of Vélez, so if Castroman leaves it will be more likely to a foreign club, though i didn't hear anything about being transfered, maybe at the end of the season. And Conca i haven't seen a lot of him, though he belongs to River he plays in U. Catolica, however i've heard that he could be returning to River soon. Castroman was the best player of the Apertura until he got injured.

What a year start..!!!

At least for River...

I think Passarella is a better coach for River, but it was a sad finish to the Merlo project...

This is the 6th time Merlo resign...he is a man of his word...

Passarella is ''El Gran Capitan'' so i hope he can do something with this squad...

We have to build the team arround Gallardo, thats for sure, he is the Best number ten of Argentina. We need two side midfielders NOW, one for the Right side and one for the Left side...

Pusineri and Figueroa are good players, but i prefer Ortega and Belluschi...

Lets hope that our president ''show the money'' to Newels...

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
Well if they would have got Cesar Delgado too like they wanted before, then i'd be afraid. Just to think, believing it could have been this way.

-------------------Lux
-
---Ferrari---Caceres---Fuentes---F. Dominguez
-
------Pusineri----Santana----Sambueza/Zapata
------------------Gallardo
-
--------Falcao/Delgado----Figueroa

Now that would like a "Dream Team" but eh i don't know what will it be now.

I saw that Gallardo was leaving River....

Rumours, rumours, rumours...

Im sure that Passarella, will talk to him and make him stay...

Pusineri is almost done...I think he is a very ''libertadores cup'' player...

There's no way Chelito Delgato would go back to play in Argentina, he's got his sights set on making the WC-Argentina roster and then going to play in Europe. He says he's quite happy at Cruz Azul but he's pretty much gone after the summer.

The rest of the River team looks pretty good, El Diablo Rojo. (Y)

Well maybe you could replace Fuentes with Coloccini, that's what River team could have been, but evidently everything's going backward now. Gallardo leaving, Fuentes and Coloccini are nowhere near to come, Pusineri is set, Chelito has been impossible for a while, though he was wanted, Figueroa may come nothing's sure, and Nuñez is almost set to play at River too.

Gallardo said he wanted to leave now they are looking where to sell him, more likely it won't be another club of Argentina.

About the Apertura, the top scorer was Javier Campora of Tiro Federal it's the first time that the top scorer is from the team that finished last there was a case of a player of Lanús that was the top scorer and Lanús was last but at the end Lanús finished as the before last team.:o

Maybe we could open a Clausura 2005/2006 thread now.:jambo:

Yes...lets open a new thread...

BTW.

My river will look like this...

Lux
Ferrari---Talamonti---Caceres/Coty---Mareque
Santana
Pusineri-------------Zapata
Gallardo
Falcao---Farias

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
It will be like that more likely, however Gallardo is leaving, and Figueroa's transfer is yet to be confirmed and if Figueroa gets confirmed i guess it'll be the time to say bye bye to Farias, also i would have in mind Buonanote now more than ever. Tonight Independiente and River Plate will play a friendly match, got to see what will be River's formation, also the saturday will be the super-classic Boca-River. These will be interesting matches to see what happens with River, besides that summer matches suck.

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
Oh well keep him then. Here are the possible lineups for both Independiente and River tonight.

Independiente: Ustari, Pautasso, Abraham, Caceres, Dominguez, Machín, Herrón, Biglia, Armenteros, Agüero and Bustos Montoya.

Bench: Leyenda, Mendez, Culio, Carrizo:), Bujan, Pereyra and Caggiano.

River Plate: Lux, Ferrari, Fernandez, Talamonti, Rojas, Barrado, San Martín, Zapata, Conca, Oberman and Montenegro.

Bench: Carrizo, Alvarez, Ahumada, Loeschbor, Santana, Patiño, Farias.

Maybe this match will be worth its own thread, and the saturday's one, but with summer matches you never know.:P

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
The teams are on the field, the match is about to start. It seems there's many people in the stadium unlike the other summer matches so far.:o

I hope this becomes an interesting match.:)

EDIT: 4 minutes and River wins 1-0, unfortunate clear of Independiente's defense that hits Loeschbor and enters in the keep.(:/)

At least it's been entertaining for now.:D
