wtf are you on Mikey about disrespecting DP like this? The guy doesn't act like a Primadonna and does the job for his club so that gives him the right to get called by the NT.

If a player as talent but acts like a c*nt then a coach should look at how this will affect the group in a WC or EURO. It's not all about having a team full of stars but a solid group that can take you somewhere.

Miccoli is a little whiner and says sh*t about everybody if it doesn't go his way, same with Cassano.

btw, you'll be happy to hear that Inter are looking into buying Thiago Motta of Barca, he's somewhat of an Italian. :D

Anyway, man. Is this that kid from the under 20s? I don't remember much of 'em, but if he's anywhere close to or similar to Fernandes, then I'll splooge my pants with delight!

We desperately need a dynamic defensive midfielder who enjoys the bone crushing aspect of the DM job as much as they enjoy going forward and kick-starting our attack from our own end.

I hope to God that he's patient, or either readymade, because otherwise, he's coming to one of the worst clubs around for young players to develop and see action. Inter is a Black hole for young'uns, man. We really don't know what to do with them, man, other than loan them out to clubs who under utilize them, or we just make them disappear somehow.

Anyway, let me welcome the kid by greeting him in his native tongue for a moment.......

Hola, Pele. Buenos dias.....felicitaciones......hasta luego!!!!!

he's not spanish he's portuguese :(
and i think he has potential but inter's is not properly the best place in the world for young players. but i wish him luck

Del Piero has had a great career, and hes always been a model professional on and off the pitch. One of my favourite players (when i bought a juve jersey in 02' i got his name on back), i was happiest to see him lift the world cup than any other player other than gattuso or cannavaro. That being said,,, his best days are long long long behind him. Sure, he will have his moments, but they are far too rare to warrant a place on the NT (especially with the monstrous depth we have in attack) or to start for a club like Juve (he was a reserve 3 seasons ago under Capello). His main problem is that he thinks hes still the same player he was 5 years ago, and tries to take on defenders or hold the ball too long resulting in him losing the ball,,, a lot. At this stage, hed be useful as a substitute when the other teams defence is tired, to sort of even out the playing field.

I've always been a big fan of Miccoli, and I think he was robbed of a place on the Euro 04' squad by Di Vaio and Corradi. Along with Maresca, id say hes the most wasted talent Italian soccer has ignored the past 4 or so years. He deserved more playing time with Juve, and I dont blame him for being upset about his stint. I know youll disagree with this, but if i was coaching Juve I wouldve kept Miccoli and he would be 2nd on the striker depth chart behind only Trezeguet. He was Palermo's best player yesterday and will be a star this season (if he stays healthy).

Cassano has only himself to blame, I dont feel sorry for him.

Motta is the last player Inter needs. The only worthwhile buys they could make would be for game deciders like Deco, Quaresma or Maxi Rodriguez

All very good points but I didn't expect you considering him as a sack of sh*t. I thought people still had respect and admire what he's done and still does in a different way with Juve and the NT. Just like the Maldinis and for our Inter fans here, Zanetti as done for them.

I believe he deserved his spot in the NT, not necessarily as a starter because Toni and Totti were obvious choices to start. Like I said, he didn't create trouble in the squad and did what his coach wanted.

Miccoli could have easily taken Iaquinta and even Gilardino's spot in the WC roster but that's not our decision.

Today he could take Di Natale's ANYTIME. Fabrizio just needs to think twice before talking and I think he's worked on that this past year.
He could have got a spot with Juve but for what he said about the team I don't have regrets of seeing him with Palermo. Could of got more for him but we have Secco on board. Another mistakes by the guy was selling Mutu. WOW!!!

ok enough, it's the Inter thread for crying out load. :D

I think they have a shot. 1-5 is already basically locked up (Roma, Juve, Milan, Inter and Fiorentina) and Palermo are likely gonna grab 6th,,, but after that its a tossup. Torino, Lazio and Sampdoria should all be up there competing for that final Uefa spot with Livorno, Parma and Atalanta all looking strong as well. Serie A hasnt been this evenly balanced in years.

hmm.....let's see.......

Milan
Roma
Juve
Us
Lazio
Fiore

hmm.....yeah, yer right, I guess. From 7th on down, it's all up for grabs....I expect Palermo, Udi, and Sampdoria to fill the spots below the top 6 or so, man. I just don't like to get my hopes up too much about promoted clubs.

There's only 2 ways up and coming Italian players get noticed by Inter, Milan or Juve. They have to prove there worth for the NT or they have an expiring contract or some other factor makes them available for much lower than there value. Quagliarella had a great season but really wasnt on anybodys radar until he scored a brace agaisnt Lithuania in June. What i find strange though is that these clubs seem to much more likely to gamble on a foreigner than on an Italian (or a foreigner in Serie A), even if they havent proved themself nearly as much. I find this strange because with an Italian or Italian based player, you know theyve already proven they can cut it in Serie A and that there wont be a transition. Thats why you see a club like Inter buying a guy like Rivas or Milan buying Grimi over Serie A players whove already proved themself. Strange.

Roma however seem to buy proven serie A preformers, and they play the prettiest calcio in the league. ;)

indeed.....they've always played a very aesthetically pleasing brand of soccer as far as I can remember.....even Capello's Roma was beautiful to watch. In my like 10yrs of following the Serie A, I don't really remember a deliberately dull and off-putting Roma side. They've got pretty excellent scouts and they do a good job of buying players, be they Italians or whatever, that fit into their mould perfectly. Also, their philosophy as it pertains to their youth system is very excellent, man.

the NT scouting has been horrendous for years. How a guy like Miccoli is not a regular yet that sack of sh*t Del Piero continuously retains his place is beyond logic. Id love to see what a coach like Spaletti or Prandelli (who base selection purely on form rather than names) would do with the Azzurri. For a guy like Rosina to get a callup, hed have to play at least 3 times better than name players like inzaghi or del piero

I don't need to tell you that DP is a legend beyond reproach because Marky has already done that, but I do understand your point, even though it was articulated in a very harsh way. He seems like a really good human who's a good influence on the team's overall morale, man.....but yeah, in principle, I concur with you......you've gotta introduce as many young'uns into the core as possible whenever useless friendlies come about...

He's just one of those players that has to step down on his own....and I think that he'll do that soon enough as he doesn't seem like a limelight craving selfish person.

I wish Lazio could pull a 'Fiorentina 2002' and go bankrupt, but only never come back to Serie A. I dont think anyone would miss them, theyre the most irrelevant top 10 club in Italy, and their elimination from the CL to a friggin Romanian club will only showcase how mediocre they really are. They were the 5th best club in a subpar Serie A last season, and only got into the CL because of Fiorentina's unjust calciopoli penalty. They also have an ugly style of play only rivalled by Cambiasso's hairline

hurhurhur......OUCH! Nice zinger on Combover boy, man.....and I thought that I had a hardon for Lazio.....

Anyway, I'm really optimistic about this current Lazio side and their coach Delio Rossi. That attacking force of Rocchi, Pandev, Del Nero and Ledesma roaming about freely is looking mighty sweet. Del Nero is a Zeman admirer and protege...his attacking philosophy and inclination of mixing young talent into the squad is very similar to that of Zeman and Prandelli.....I expect big things from this Lazio side this year, man....I'm pretty much optimistic about every side this year except our own.....

I don't know, man, but you know that yer a detestable and intolerable human being when an ardently loyal person like Moretti has had enough of you and is encouraging you to go elsewhere......I think that he's been a persona non grata to Mancini for a while now.

I really like the dude and still believe in em so I hope that this **** gets taken care of in a positive manner swiftly.

Apparently he wants out but he refuses to be loaned out, he wants a permanent move. Last I heard Westham where interested, no offense to any Westham fans but I think he's too talented to play for them.

heh...sweet!

Looks like the ****er will be sticking around. Hopefully he'll get his **** straightened out and regain the confidence of the coach, man, because I really love the dude's game.....closest player to Ronaldo that I'll probably ever get to see in my life, man.

ehmm.....*sombre tone.....like that of a Coptic widow* Looks like those dreaded rumours of King Recoba being either sold or loaned out have finally actualized themselves.....at the last minute of the transfer window no less......*sigh*........I've been bracing myself for this the entire summer so to pretend as though it's a total shocker to me or something would be an entirely farcical act, but it still saddens and hurts me immensely to see 'em being pushed off to another club like this, man.

Anyway, I wish the best for the sonofabitch, man.....a career year of sorts without any health issues.

I'll now be rootin' for Torino even more than I normally would for your typical newly promoted club, man. I hope that he guides them to a UEFA cup spot or something.

Now, regarding that embarrassment of a friendly.......sheesh! Boy did we get completely and utterly devastated....deballed and ****ted on mercilessly, man. I didn't see the entire match, but being the sado-masochistic dickhead that I am, I decided to sit through some extended highlights of the game and was disgusted and drained watching that 10min montage of horror and humiliation, man. You can toss out every excuse known to man to lessen and reduce the awfulness of that performance be it the number of non-regulars, noobs, and folks coming back from the injury list that we suited or whatever and it still wont cut it, man. We did some serious damage to the team's honor and reputation with that performance.....doesn't matter if it's a meaningless match, the amount of significance the coach puts on the game, what we have lying ahead of us, or who we field, you don't get on all fours like a Goddamn punk bitch and get battered and laid to waste like that, man.......seriously........WTF?

An Empoli loss..........here we goooooo!

thanks for the highlights

yoss, i am here to align with you to make this thread all more powerfull, i have come back from my little ban

as you (and maybe even more) i have a deep hearted affiliation to Recoba, I am glad he was loaned and not traded but in these scenarios the player is usually transfered the next season after the loan. I am going to root on for Torino with full force and it will definitly be a pleasure to watch their games and actually see Recoba's matches. Who knows maybe this is a good thing.

looks like ibra saved our bumps at the empoli match (Y) good player

Definitely, brah. Great to have you back, man. We've been undermanned and losing a lot of our usual staff over the past couple of years. Hamsworth and ForzaNerrazzurri were bravely and excellently holding down the fort the last year to a year and a half , before that, we had the likes of Internazionale, davids, SB9Dragon, Solo and sick contributing on the regular.....now, it's just a barren place, man.

Anyway, another unconvincing and uninspiring effort yesterday against such a lowly outfit, man....especially in the second half....we were just brutal again, man....WTF? There should be no excuses as it pertains to fitness and the such anymore...the first couple of preseason games or so? Sure, but not in the second game of the season, man.....our lack of drive and energy is appalling and unacceptable.

Heroic Zlatan....lookin for you to break the 30 goal mark this year, my friend.
