I need to make a list or take a photo of my liquor collection one day. It's ridiculous, but it's a real passion.
I would like to see a picture some day...

Hit the Jim Beam last night, reminded me of old times, back in Edinburgh I drank bourbon pretty much daily but here it's been all vodka.

I swear I'm no longer cut out for heavy drinking. Today was yet another horrible hangover. I miss the old days where I used to be able to drink a lot and only wake up with a light headache at most.

Alcoholism doesn't help. Not that you drink in moderation either, but if I would just respect my limits like most healthy adults I would not have a problem. Downing 3/4 of a bottle of cachaca in between vodka and Grand Marniers in like 4 hours isn't a great plan.

Haha I regularly drink 2-3 bottles of straight whiskey in a night....

By the way the United Kingdom government's definition of binge drinking for adults is drinking more than four units of alcohol (that's maybe three beers) in a 24 hours......

Hahaha, yeah ours is the same. Always laugh at those. The caipirinhas I was pouring were more than that.

This one wasn't really a headache though, it was more dry heaves (only once) and decimating my immune system which let a cold get through.

Also it didn't help that I had no food that entire day. This seems to be a major theme of my worst binges. I get up late, so never eat breakfast, and will often go until dinnertime without eating anything. This is a problem if I get ****faced during the day because I will forget to eat at all.

Exactly the same for me - the worst scenario is when I wake up still a bit drunk after having been really drunk the night before, but there is a football match on I want to watch so I cant just lie in bed for a bit and instead go to the pub and start drinking, and then I dont feel like eating anything, and I end up getting **** faced again but with a completely empty stomach and not having recovered from the previous night.

EDIT: This happens pretty much every Saturday

Please do! Always wanted to have a liquor collection, but never had the money and or self control. At the start of each semester when we just got out student loans my flatmate and I would put together a collection of maybe 30 bottles, but then we'd nail them all in about a week or two and not have the money to replace them!

Yeah, some things are in high rotation - usually Gin, whatever decent one is on special so Beefeater, Tanqueray, or Bombay - but the rest is a built up collection, and as it's not my main drink, usually stays a while. It starts by just buying an extra bottle of something different when I went to the bottle shop.

So I go and buy my bottle of gin to drink, and also grab a fancy liqueur or something. My red wine collection is because the shops here often do specials for getting mixed half dozens and stuff. So if I'm going somewhere, I'll buy 6 instead of 1, and put the 5 on the rack.

The key is to replace what you drink plus some. So if I drink a bottle of gin one night, I'll buy more than a bottle of gin to replace it.

Haha unfortunately for me, if I plan to drink a bottle of gin so I buy a bottle of gin and a bottle of something else to save, I'll end up drinking them both, every time. When I get to the end of a bottle of spirits - already far more than anyone should sensibly drink in a sitting - I always uncontrollably drink another bottle. Only thing that can stop me is if I dont have access to another bottle. Hence why liquor collections dont tend to work for me!

Here you go Sir_Didier_Drogba. Got the collection off the shelf, and on to the dining table so I could take a photo. Still hard to get it all in. This is only the liquors and liqueurs, no wine or beer.

I also realise after I took the photo that I had a bottle of gin and a bottle of vodka in the freezer, and two bottles of Baileys in the fridge.

Haha wow, that looks fantastic. I just can't imagine the pleasure you must get coming home of an evening, sitting back and pouring yourself a drink of whatever you feel like. When you come to Europe this summer I am going to go to Australia, sneak into your house and lock myself in for a week long suicidal binge that will end in me dying the worlds happiest man!

EDIT: I have not encountered a single bar in Estonia as well stocked as you.

When I can be bothered putting them all back, I'll take out all my wine and take a photo of that.

Only if you feel like it! Not so important with the wine because I wont be able to see\read what most of them are...
