I feel bad for the U.S., they deserved at least a tie. However, their poor finishing let them down, because they had more than enough chances to win the game.

Paraguay didn't play too well but we were effective again, and I'm cool with that. What a great pass by Cardozo in the first goal and a great finish on the second one. Santa Cruz didn't score but played very well again. Morel is one of our best players too.

I hope Villar is not seriously injured :S

Man, this is bad news, seems that we are going to play against a tough team the next round either Paraguay or Argentina if we kee the 1sst place.

What a stupid system BTW, why the hell the first place has to play against the second of the other group and the second against a third?, it doesnt make sense, plus u have to change city, stupid logisitc, what is the prize of finnishing first ?if u have a better reward as a 2nd place, i dont get it

Well this match taught the players that they must not let Cardozo roam freely into an one on one because he'll more likely score.
The players of Paraguay looks very confident about themselves, they seemed to take everything too easily, however they handed many chances to United States, even though they wasted them and Paraguay also had some chances, however the northern team had more, a top team would've probably score at least once or twice in all those chances, but probably they'll work on that. Being confident is fine beware with being overconfident though, but i bet they'll know how to play against the bigger teams. Paraguay must be feared in attack, i think they can fight head to head with any other side in this cup.

why didn't you create the thread Maestro :brow:

just started watching the match, Paraguay scores the 2-1 by Cardozo.

Because I'm at work an don't have time. Also......... I don't know how :(

This sucks :(, the U.S had plenty of opportunities to take the lead in the beggining and win it. IN the end they also had chances to tie it. Its a shame that we loss. Once again our young players were great but most people will look at the score and say we got owend when it is everything but..

I'm a holding my head high because despite this loss and whatever happens, it shows that our future is bright with our future players and the NT. If these guys can play like this at such young age and against tough opposition, one can only imagine what they will be able to do in the near future. :clapwap::Bow::rockman:

HALA U.S.A!! :p

Disappointing performance by the US.

I was really hoping to see alittle more from them, but they still seem to be unable to break through some kind of barrier that just stops them in international football. They have the potential, but the development is just not happening.

It's all in the attitude I guess, the coach was too arrogant to see his mistakes.

I had thought that after the Copa Oro, they would atleast have a strong belief in themeselves and what they could accomplish, but I think it actually had an adverse effect. It made the coach too confident in his strategy. A strategy that cleary doesn't work, not against south-american teams, not in Copa America.

If this is what the US will always bring, I would rather like to see Panama, Honduras, Canada or even Guadalupe, get the invite instead next time. They play some very attractive football.

Fair enough, don't forget that United States isn't the only one that gets new players and develops youth ones, by the way.

So for now, Mexico, Paraguay and Argentina have a guaranteed spot in the quarter finals no matter what.

The program of the quatrer finals is like this.

1- 1st A vs. 2nd best 3rd
2- Best 3rd vs. 2nd B
3- 1st B vs. 2nd C
4- 1st C vs. 2nd A

So for now it would be.

1- Venezuela vs. Uruguay
2- Chile vs. Peru
3- Mexico vs. Argentina
4- Paraguay vs. Brazil

United States and Colombia have chances, but very thin, they must win over the other no matter what, as soon as none of the other 3rds ends with 4 points or more, but depending how the other groups finish will matter the goal difference in their victories. United States has -5 while Colombia has -7. Ecuador is in a similar situation except their goal difference is -2.
Bolivia, wiith a victory they would grant a spot as the 2nd best 3rd, they have some more chances than the other three teams.

The seeding is so stupid. I can't believe we'd have to play Argentina as a reward for winning the group. Great going. :|

Well it's that and it's also Argentina's punishment(?) for not winning their group.:p
However things still could change depending the scores of Brazil and Chile, also depending what happens between Argentina and Paraguay.

dude, did you watch the game?? The U.S created goal scoring opportunities, the only problem was the finishing. As I stated before, for a youth squad, they played some great football, It's just a shame that the score board doesn't represent that. but we are all allowed to post our interpretation of the game.

I don't think that Diego will waste this unique chance to be seen at the top stage. Good to see that Crespo, even being injured, was very optimistic about the team doing well without him and he'll try to be there for the final.

Lucho confessed he picks Inter when he plays Winning Eleven while Diego Milito confessed he picks Barça.:funny:

So far i think Mascherano has been the best midfielder of the cup.:jambo:

He is saying that USA has no credibility at all as a national team around the world, but they are not caring about a tournament that could actually give them respect and establish their name. The gold cup means **** all, considering no one gives a **** about it.
