Seol ;)
He isn't that good though.
It's true that he's scoring quite easy this seaon but it has more to do with the breakdown of Belgian football than with Seol :(

u can't really blame "the breakdown of Belgian football" ... if u score u score, that's the bottom line. he's scoring a heck of a lot of goals for anderlecht and and thas all that matters :crazyboy:

There are a lot of Asian players in various leagues now, and for the first time there is a larger influx of Asians into the Premiership.

Inamoto might have failed at Arsenal but he is slowly getting into the Fulham team. Li Tie has been quite impressive for Everton and is everpresent.
Sun Jihai is doing well for Man City but he has a slight advantage in that he has already played in England before - for Crystal Palace.

Hidetoshi Nakata remains the best Asian player of them all. His success at Perugia paved the way for many other Asian players to go to Europe.

Still,
Seol is only ranked 7th in the top scorers list with 8 goals out of 15 matches, while the topscorer already has 14.
But if you look at some results you know what I mean by breakdown.
Racing Genk - KV Mechelen 9 - 0
KV Mechelen - Standard 1 - 1
Racing Genk - Standard 1 - 5
Club Brugge (1) - Lokeren (2) 5 - 0
Sint Truiden (3) - Club Brugge (1) 5 - 2
Club Brugge (1) - Racing Genk (6) 4 - 0
Charleroi - GBA 1 - 6

Then I'd say 8 goals ain't that good

In all honesty they are just starting to break through in Europe, so I haven't seen that much of them. The Asian player that has impressed me most is Inamoto, his performances in the World Cup were outstanding, easily Japan's best player during the tournament. But I don't think we saw Nakata (midfielder not full-back - is it Hidetoshi? full-back is Shinji (who impressed me a lot as well)) at his best. Now that I've seen him playing for Fulham a couple of times, mostly as a substitute, he's continued to impress. If I were his manager I'd most likely start him.

With the World Cup recently being held in Japan-Korea, as long as football is nurtured in the right way in those coutries we could see a large amount of good-great players coming from this region within the next decade. This is as long as the respectives FA's keep promoting the game in the correct manner and offering good training to promising talent. Otherwise the momentum that would have been gained in those countries because of the World Cup, especially as both nations had good runs, will be lost and nothing would have been gained.

Having said that it seems that this has been done recently, it's obvious that a lot of talent coming from Japan now coincides with the emergence of the J-League about 10yrs ago, therefore the kids who were 8 years old at the time, are now 18yrs old and have been nurtured well. We may see many more in 10yrs time, due to the World Cup.

We need more Asian football coverage over here in UK, all we get is Brazilian, Argentina, Dutch, and highlights. and MLS.

Only the casual 1 hour special of highlights on Sky Sports at midnight, sucks :(

come on Channel4/5, strike a deal with the Asian FA. :) we want J-League!

Koji, that's him. I was certain he was Shinji, but now that you've corrected me it's jogged my memory. :) Thanks.

Inamoto had a terrific start to the season, including a hat-trick against Bologna in the InterToto Cup, but has since faded away a little.

Li Tie, however, has been very consistent, and is part of an improving Everton side.

Channel Five used to have The Asian Football Show on late night, but it has been replaced by rubbish American Football now.

How about Li Wei Feng ? He`s also with Everton, but I`ve never seen him playing.

He is fourth choice central defender behind Weir, Stubbs and Yobo. He did play a few games through the season and plays in the Worthless Cup. He's been ok, but as I said, he's not been good enough to be a regular yet.

NAKATA is the one, he is even better than shearer.

P.S who is asian player of the year
african player of the year is DIOUF
european player of the year is Ronaldo

Come now, Nakata is:

a) not better than Shearer.
b) can't really compare to Shearer because they play in different positions.
c) can't really compare with Shearer because they are different styled players.
