Oh, and Hitman, I know you probably learned about the Prince in your freshman world history class as many of us, including me, did, and you thought it would be interesting, but you might be a little over your head.

uuuuuuuhhhhh... i didn't hear of The Prince in my freshman world history class last year all i heard was the stupid SOAD my world history teacher was listening to on his computer all day

Unfortunatly im in American Public Education :(
I heard about The Prince in another forum when i was asking if Man can govern himself, and a guy opened my eyes by saying to me to read the prince. So i said ok and thats where i am right now.

American Public Education = They don't teach you anything, but they teach you how to get points to get an A in the class

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE! SERIOUSLY!

Gees hitman you contradict yourself - firstly you say "Im getting A's in French im better than all of youse" then say that above "The education system in America is appealing, A guy like me can get A's".

Yes hitman we all knew you were an idiot before you did.

i am currently reading a book named PAKISTAN : FROM JINNAH TO JEHAD written jointly by a news correspondent and a former CBI ( central bureau of investigation ) director.

As the title suggests , the book deals with all the things that led to the creation of pakistan and Mohammad Ali Jinnah ( yes the muslim who ate ham ! ) and why he wasn't given the same respect as Gandhi and Nehru and it tells that he was not the one who started the movement for creation of pakistan , other elements much before him advocated the partition....it also tells in detail about all the prime ministers from the start till Gen. Musharraf and a bit about Bin Laden...

All in all everything related to pakistan politically...A good book

They wish they were like? If you can't relate to Holden, you see him as a lonely loser.

Oh, and Hitman, come on, the education system isn't appalling, the willingness of kids in American schools to learn is appalling. They can't teach you anything you don't want to learn.

I just bought two new books today, both on recommendations from folk in these forums (I think one was from my old buddy rhizome, but my uncle also recommended it to me yesterday):

- Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlossen
- Native Son by David Wright

Just read the introduction to Fast Food Nation and I'm already very intrigued.

I finally finished reading The Hot Zone by Richard Preston..... that book sucks! :o

Move over, Stephen King--Richard Preston's got a thing or two to show you about horror! What's more, this is a true story. It's the late 1980's, and Ebola Fever, an African virus with a 90% kill rate, breaks out in a research facility in the suburbs of the nation's capital. A biohazard SWAT team from the U.S. Army must secretly decontaminate the place
fascinating

I am about to start reading The House on the Mango Street... it looks allright, certainly different from other books we have to read for school, but seems like a book for girls :|

haha, same here....

we have to write a collection of 10 vignettes about our life and the difficulties and important moments.....

its due tomorrow, and I only have one so far (H)

snow, snow, snow :) no school tomorrow (C)

anyway, im reading "The Sound of Waves" by Mishima....

It seems like the Japanese version of Romeo and Juliet :$

Set in a remote fishing village in Japan, The Sound of Waves is a timeless story of first love. A young fisherman (Shinji :D ) is entranced at the sight of the beautiful daughter (Hatsue) of the wealthiest man in the village. They fall in love, but must then endure the Sir Didier*y and gossip of the villagers.

I have a book report due in religion. And quite frankly, it's 10:42 pm right now, and I don't think I'm doing it. Maybe I'll wrap up the book in study hall and start writing, and find time between periods to type it up.
