For one magical moment it really looked like there was a chance the Danes would go through and both Portugal and Holland go home........

Oh well. Portugal in a strong position now. Ironically both qualifiers from this group should have easier quarter final matches than any of their group games. Portugal strike me as a team which will thrive on momentum and positive results, so a big win against Czech and they could be very hard to beat.

Danes really have gone out of this tournament with pride. Unlike Holland who have humiliated themselves.

Wasn't van der Wiel tipped to be some sort of monster RB that every club wants? I admit I haven't seen him play for Ajax, but from what I've seen of him in the Euro games, the dude just doesn't deserve the hype.

Yeah he was supposed to be our target right back, dont want him now.

But prize for worst player of the tournament may have to go to his colleague in the other full back position, Willems, who across the three matches has looked painfully out of his depth.

So, Portugal kicked the Netherlands of the Euro 2012, funny part how the 3º team favourite to win the tournament, gets out without a single point.
Honestly, this is for all who said that Portugal didn't had a team and Ronaldo was a pure ****, just hype.
Honestly, hype was the Robben, Van Persie and Sneijder, on a game that they didn't do anything.

Anyway, brilliant game from Pepe, and also Miguel Veloso, they have been the most consistent players of our team.

We the benefit of hindsight (and for the record I was not one of those backing Holland for a strong trophy run) it is quite unbelievable that so many people rated Holland's chances so highly considering they dont have a single quality defender or goalkeeper.

Obviously you are clueless. Ronaldo said at THIS stage (group stage) last year Messi was out of the Copa America. The idiot forgot that Argentina make it to the quarter finals. That had nothing to do with Portugal going through or not

The game was perfect for Portugal's counter attacking style. Netherlands just couldn't control the defence and midfield throughout all of their games. Van Der Wiel looked very crappy.

IMO this game was easier for Portugal than let's say if they met Greece.

Portugal look good though, they seem to have built on their style from their last few tournaments and their players have improved too. They are playing with confidence. Only weakness is centre forward position, but they can make it up in other ways or maybe Postiga gets lucky.

Yeah Nani and Ronaldo were leading pretty much every attack. Postiga was not very much involved at all. Portugal's strengths are on the wings and defense. Great centerbacks and central midfielders who can drop back to defend. I think Portugal miss a creative CAM as well since Deco left but the midfield is pretty good nonetheless.

Just watched the replay, that happens when you give too much space and chances to players like Ronaldo and Nani. I think Netherlands should be happy with 2-1, Portugal were superior by far. Excellent Performance by Ronaldo, he ran the whole time, a step closer to Ballon'Dor .

I can't believe Netherlands didn't qualify with three defeats, was this their worst performance ever. Sneijder doen't have the qualities of the wing and their defenders were so weak.

Yes, but small chances. I think Czechs can't hurt Portugal much, they will need great performance and Portugal is on fire now. Ronaldo finally exploded after very slow start... But this Euro is full of surprise and everything can happened, so, I would not check off Czechs easily.
