You liked Joffrey? He's a little piss ant. He wasn't even a good evil character, just a little twerp.Mandieta6;3663591 said:I marathoned Game of Thrones and am now up to date. I like it. Kinda wish they'd kill a few people off so they can focus on the interesting characters. Or on Emilia Clarke. That chick be hot.
I also didn't get the fuss about the Red Wedding. I liked Joffrey.

I agree regarding the red wedding, it wasn't as outrageous as I thought it was going to be. I guess it wasn't so much the over the top killing, just the emotional attachment people had to the Stark family. I was certainly cheering for Rob until that stage...along with Dany of course. Now it's all about the girl and the dragons. Though I like John Snow and the younger Stark girl. The other two Starks are so so annoying. We don't care about cripple guy with the animal telepathy stuff, and we don't care about the whiney elder Stark daughter.
Emilia Clarke is so so hot. At least we agree on that.

Not that they didn't change bits and pieces here and there throughout the seasons, but this last one might mean they are starting to veer away too much from the books. Which is something I'm not sure is a good thing.

I'm not that excited about the White Walkers. I like the show for the politics and relationships, not so much the fantasy elements.Mandieta6;3663785 said:Who the fuck if Rickon? Is that the Stark kid they made up when Theon conquered Winterfell? I hadn't realised he existed until then, I was sure they were 4.
In regards to all the dead Starks, I didn't really care because they were kind of boring. I found that in Game of Thrones you had the exact opposite of normal shows. Whereas you tend to have evil characters to give the good guys a reason to be, here I found that the good guys were there for the more interesting characters to have someone to argue with. I liked Ned because I like Sean Bean, but the entire Stark family is boring. Their only faults come as a result of them being obliviously noble. I like Arya, mostly because of the potential she has as a character. I'd definitely be down to see her becoming like that shapeshifting guy who killed 3 guys for her (although that plot was stupid, if she was offered 3 names she should have immediately said 'Joffrey' and whoever it was she had a hate-boner for at the time). I like the direction they're going with Samsung now, too. Snow is interesting simply because he is our portal to the White Walkers storyline. As a character I do not find him particularly interesting.
Disagree completely. It wasn't clever, he was just an idiot and I rarely liked a scene with him, unless there was a chance Tyrion would make an arse of him.In regards to Joffrey, he was brilliant. He was incredibly detestable but he was the most attractive character. Any scene he was in had enormous potential. With him gone, most of my interest in King's Landing is gone, as well.
Tyrion is still one of my favourite characters. I think we'll see much more from him. He's brilliantly manipulative and an interesting character to boot. Cersei was always a villain, and in my eyes more a villain than Tyrion ever was. Jaime has always been a little boring, especially now he has one hand - the one thing that could be interesting about him is now taken away. Lame. But he provides balance to the Lannister family I think. There's still Jaime, Tyrion, Bronn and Tywen which make the capitol, thankfully. Tyrion was more fun when he was a drunk, though. The loss of the Starks and his gradual maturing have turned him into the 'good guy' which, in accordance with the way the show works, turns him more into a foil than anything else. Cersei has become the major 'villain' and it is seeping the intrigue out of Tyrion and Jaime, IMO.
Yes, I can agree with this. The show is at a slight lull. There was the exciting build up to the war, the war itself, the different men claiming the throne etc. Now we're sort of rebuilding, waiting for the next major plot direction, and I just want to hurry up and see someone bone Dany.It might appear like I don't like the show since I'm kind of complaining but I do like it. It just feels like, since everything is reduced to relations of opposites, the loss of the Starks means others need to take their place, which makes them less interesting. That's why Arya, Samsung and Emilia Clarke are interesting, because they're transitioning in the other direction. We'll see, though, I don't imagine the balance will stay this way for long.
Theon's a freak, but I'm certainly interested in where he's headed.I was enjoying the Theon plot last season. He was probably the most fleshed-out character in terms of motivation, I'm interested in seeing what they do with him.
