Top 10 albums of 2005

If it's small stuff, you can just put it in the pocket. Cameras are there mostly to deter. If it's clothes, all you need is a store bag.

Stealing alcohol is the hardest.

A couple things: 1) I'm getting sick of Eminem's songs, they're all sounding the same to me. His production used to be hot, but now it's sounding so damn similiar. Know why I didn't like 2Pac's "Loyal to the Game?" It all sounded the ******* same to me. 2) Dre is amazing enough so that he can even make The Game sound good. However, just because the song gets crazy play on the radio doesn't mean the song is good. The Game manages to be the most boring, repetitive rapper I have heard in a very long time. "I'm the successor of Tupac, I'm bringing the West Coast back," bla bla bla. Great beats doesn't make an album good, remember that. They're disgusting. My friend Carlos*ed the album from Target, we listened to it in my car and I threw it out the CD out the window while driving on Fairfax County Parkway.

It was just that terrible.

I liked The Documentary for the most part, Just Blaze is fantastic at what he does. And Great Beats CAN make a good album, everyone likes The Chronic and I'll be the first one to tell you it isn't because of Dre's lyrics and flow.

Three 6 mafia is HORRIBLE. I haven't managed to listen to that "Stay Fly" song all the way through yet, even though every time it comes on the radio I go "ok, this time I'll give it a try". Horrible rapping and the most annoying hook I've heard in my life.

And whoever does that "Laffy Taffy" song can die too. Young Jeezy?

Last night I wanted some candy, and no camera at Giant reaches the candy aisle... I went out of control (Y) Mmmmm, Toblerone (H)
I used to work at Giant, they don't even watch the cameras man. All you need to do is to make sure not to get caught by any ACTUAL people whether it's mall security (haha!) or Giant employees.

Few months ago I caught a black dude stealing a whole bunch of **** and my mananger told me to call the cops because it was policy to press charges against shoplifters. It was a busy night for Herndon cops and the guy got off, lucky bastard (Y)

I found that out when I was working at Wal-Mart. The cameras in the dairy section are bogus, so I always make note to stash my pants with chocolate milk. And yeah, stealing is addicting. I do it mainly for the thrill.

I ******* hate that song but it aint Jeezy... His CD is probably my favorite mainstream album that came out this year... Chyea!

And yeah, working at a store made me realize noone looks at the cameras unless they know something is happening... Arash, howd you catch that guy and what did you do? The law is that you can't physically do anything without their consent.. "Can I search your bag?" - "No!"... Only cops/security can do anything.

Haha Walmart is the easiest place to steal...I never pay for condoms or car air fresheners. And they always have a disabled grandpa standing at the door... what's he gonna do?

He just walked straight out the door instead of going to the registers... I basically yelled at him a couple times and than the security guy came. He didn't run and complied to our commands which usually never happens. The security guy and I just chilled for like 50 minutes until we decided to let him go. It wasn't a bag, it was one of those little hand-baskets so it was very obvious.

I don't steal that much but my friend stole all of his girl's Christmas gifts, it was worth like $250.

I really think it's due to boredom tho. Anything else you do is gonna cost you money.

Good call, Shindig.

Shiryu: KMFDM need to learn when to call it quits. Hau Ruck is awful (as is WWIII). And let's face it, industrial music is dead. Their last decent effort (I thought) was 2002's 'Attak' album. Sascha should have kept MDFMK in-tact, though. I'm want a follow up.

The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star: IV

Dream Theater - Octavarium

Actually, I always thought Attack was their worst album.
Too much experimentation that didn't go anywhere, and Raymond's contributions where just the usual, repetitive stuff.
This one felt more to me like Angst. Just the start of something new to come.

Anyway, I respect the album mostly because of this new band. They way they can play nearly the entire Kmfdm catalog, is incredible, they sound absolutely fantastic. I really think they can go somewhere in the future.

Plus, if you ever see them live, you'll notice that all the band members stick around and have a beer with you after the show! (atleast they did when I saw them). Sascha has problably taken a picture with every single one of the band's fans in the last tours... ...just check the fan photos in their website...I don't think that's even a part of them...

I saw KMFDM in 2003, when they were doing their WWIII tour, just for the sake of it. And Sascha is the coolest guy you'll ever meet. I've even e-mailed him a couple times, and he's responded everytime. I've e-mailed En Esch, too. It was hate mail, though. I got the weirdest response from En Esch. (H)

Yeah, you'd think that after being in this scene for over 20 years, he would ge sick at some point.

But, nope.

I asked him to sign my Naive shirt, and he was all cool about it, even chatted with us for awhile about the new album. Since it was my birth day, I even got a hug from Lucia!

I saw En Esch early in 2005, in a club here in L.A. (Playing Solo...)
He's the weirdest person I've ever seen. He so obviously tried to avoid looking at my wwIII shirth, when I asked him a couple of things.
He looked pretty serious though, so left him alone...

shoplifting is so passe, it used to be cool but now everybody does it.

and about the posts regarding arcade fire, let's not give too much credit here. it's alright, but not amazing. if we were to hail the label 'top' to every 'decent' **** to come out it would mean that pitchforkmedia is actually *gasp* dependable.

anyway, I've heard some lousy **** this year, and had MUCH better luck looking for old cds that no store in maryland would sell and enjoying it for my effort in actually getting it.

and ta da, notable quote of the thread!

I have a hard rock band, and ****, I know how ****ed up it is to come up with such great songs. I've listened to dozens and dozens of rock n roll albums from all ages and trends, with all techniques and songwritings, and you bet I know how good this guys are...
oh, you have your own band? you must enlighten us! you can't pull anything out of your ass in the genre of this how you say.. rock n roll? oh 'great pariah of rock n roll', you must be totally right. either that, or you're just shit. personally, I think it's just the latter.
