Here's ma top 5 ass-kickin rock'n'rollin' albums of this year

Ears are wonderful things. Shame you've ruined the priviledge of hearing by liking such guff. Tokyo Dragons? If I remember rightly, they were this generic-as-generic-can-be band that was involved in a battle of the bands thing on MTV, a while back.

What tools.

Forgot to include Some Cities in my list. Nowhere near as good as Last Broadcast, but I doubt Doves can top that. Anything close is worth a listen, though. Hell, they've never done a crap album.

INFESTA

Official
Arcade Fire - Funeral

Makes the rest look like... well, look like the rest. These also deserve a mention, though:
Beck - Guero
Interpol - Antics

Antics is a great album but 2004.

So is Funeral but it was only released here in 2005 so I guess it's ok.

Elber2k3

Senior Squad
In no particular order.
Olli Banjo -Schizogenie

Kanye West - Late Registration

Saian Supa Crew - Hold Up

DJ Muggs vs. GZA - Grandmasters

Favorite & Jason - Rappen kann tödlich sein

Kool Savas & Azad - One

dude, they're a classic hard rock, and they're really good at it! THAT'S ****IN RARE, you know? Name me one good recent hard rock band around.
Their concerts are ass kickin', they're solos are brilliant, they're riffs are cool and powerful...

...hell, did u even ever listen to the album?

who da **** do you think u are to judge other people's tastes or it's "priviledge of hearing"?

I have a hard rock band, and ****, I know how ****ed up it is to come up with such great songs. I've listened to dozens and dozens of rock n roll albums from all ages and trends, with all techniques and songwritings, and you bet I know how good this guys are...

The Darkness... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Okay, I'm done.

I know man, there are some things better left unknown and one of them is certainly the musical preferences of most SG members :(

I have promised myself I wouldn't open any more music related threads in SG, but I always forget it.

1. DangerDoom - The Mouse and the Mask (2005)
I listened to a lotta MF Doom stuff over the summer and immediately became a convert. He and Danger Mouse bring hip-hop to an innovative and new level. Who else would insert voices of characters from Aqua Teen Hunger Force onto a hip-hop album?
2. Common - Be (Thank you, Kanye.)
3. DJ Aligator - Music is My Language
4. Arash - Tike Tike Kardi
5. Gorillaz - Demon Days
6. The Perceptionists - Black Dialogue
7. Various Artists - The Hustle and Flow Soundtrack
8. Kanye West - Late Registration
9. Talib Kweli - Right About Now
10. Damian Marley - Welcome to Jamrock

Worst:
The Game - The Documentary
50 Cent - The Massacre
Tony Yayo - Thoughts Of A Predicate Felon
Three 6 Mafia - Most Known Unknown

Man Arash, how can u say The Game's album was one of the worst? Aside from the couple of tracks that produced by 50 Cent, this CD was one of the best from this year. The tracks produced by Dre, Eminem, Kanye and featuring rappers like Busta and Eminem among others. And I dont know about Three 6 Mafia being there either, I bought it and liked it a lot.

But one of the best CDs i bought this year was Lil Wayne's "The Carter 2". His last album was absolute crap, and having bough all his other CDs i can say that this last one is by far his greatest album.

A couple things: 1) I'm getting sick of Eminem's songs, they're all sounding the same to me. His production used to be hot, but now it's sounding so damn similiar. Know why I didn't like 2Pac's "Loyal to the Game?" It all sounded the ******* same to me. 2) Dre is amazing enough so that he can even make The Game sound good. However, just because the song gets crazy play on the radio doesn't mean the song is good. The Game manages to be the most boring, repetitive rapper I have heard in a very long time. "I'm the successor of Tupac, I'm bringing the West Coast back," bla bla bla. Great beats doesn't make an album good, remember that.
And I dont know about Three 6 Mafia being there either, I bought it and liked it a lot.
They're disgusting. My friend Carlos*ed the album from Target, we listened to it in my car and I threw it out the CD out the window while driving on Fairfax County Parkway.

It was just that terrible.

The same can be said about Kanye. "Im the most innovative. im the greatest. I appeal to everyone. I dont have to talk about X." The fact that he said he had the 5 best rap songs tattooed on himself... then turns out those 5 songs are all his songs. :nape: I got tired of everything Kanye since his last album, good thing I dont listen to the radio or Id have to listen to crap like that Diamonds from whatever song and Gold Digger.

How did you friend manage to steal a CD from Target?! Target's a freaking fortress.
Also got some Hummer and Lacoste cologne that day. It was relatively easy and most importantly, busy.

Boredom leads to crime, it's an established fact.

I've stolen jeans from Target before

I've been Carlos*ing so much **** lately, once you start you can't stop... "Hey, I like this, and if I put it in my pocket it's free".

Last night I wanted some candy, and no camera at Giant reaches the candy aisle... I went out of control (Y) Mmmmm, Toblerone (H)
