I didn't knew that South Africa will host the Handball World Cup as well

No. Henry cheated last night. France doesn't deserve to play in WC, Henry doesn't deserve to play in WC, though he is still a great player.

The interesting fact is that before the handball it was an offside in that cross from the freekick; and the funny thing is that he touched the ball 2 times! The first one to stop the ball, and the second to put it in the best position to cross for the goal.

HIS GESTURE IS UNPARDONABLE!

I'm sorry for Ireland they have a really great team!

Noone knows what will happen in penalty-shootout so France didn't actually deserved to qualify if gallas's goal didn't count.

Henry' one sounds more likely to basketball.

PSO could go either way; that's such a BS argument saying that France didn't derserve to qualify. What if they had have scored again? Or won the PSO?

I for one am happy for France, but gutted at the manner in which it happened. It's like Cristiano Ronaldo being criticized for being such a diver I remember this quote concerning him a while back: if you're such good a player/team, then why cheat?

Its Henry like he always was.....arrogant and unsportsmanlike. I hate this guy. He should get banned for the wc, if france still will participate. Referees should get banned too. Unbelievable, to not have seen this. Man, he didnt just touch the ball with his hand, he legally laid it down on his foot. Un- ****in- believable. If i was irish, i would be very angry.

The cynic in me says that handling it twice wasn't going to bring out the best of him after they scored... :S

If the referee's word is supposedly final then he should have consulted with his linesmen.

And you can consider now another reason for the 5 refs rule. I'm pretty sure that that refereee would've seen that handball

I disagree there, we are not discussing what would happen if it was a PSO or if they had scored again, we are talking about the handball and that goal, the goal and handball fouls are the reasons why France scored and qualified, which in itself is unfair, making it a unfair win and qualification for France, now we don't know what would've happened if it had continued and the referee would do his work, but taking in consideration to that unfair goal which secured France for the World Cup, makes the win itself and qualification for France completely unfair and that they didn't deserve it by not making a proper, by the rules, goal

well Henry apparently said that the replay would be fair for Ireland and France.

Well I think that can help him to keep some of his reputation but Fifa should blame the ref as well, I'm agree with Arnau, why nobody blames the ref, maybe because nothing will happen except few bans for Irish!!!

The refs are to be blamed? so if a player dives and wins a penalty..blame the ref & not the player cuz he didnt spot it. If a player kicks/punches another player & the ref doesnt see it.. blame the ref and not the player.

My point is it does not mean you can cheat and break the rules of the game and justify it as long as it doesnt get spotted by the ref.

Looks like Henry has killed someone.
It wasn't a premeditated thing, he touch the ball with the hand, yes, but was something spontaneous. The referee were very bad, there was a clear penalty on Anelka and an off-side before "crime scene".
