Well seeing that he already lost the captaincy, its better to move the discussion to who will replace Bridgey as 2nd choice left-back instead.

I feel disappointed with the way JT acted, but as far as I'm concerned I have no emotional attachment with these players in regards to how they live their own lives. JT only has Bridge and his wife to answer for, and it was supposed to be kept that way. Until the media decided to take matters into their own hands and made this issue a public concern(when it doesn't even have to do with anyone not involved at all).

And why is the media not blaming the skank but just JT? Surely she must've played a part in pulling JT into all of this. Must be because of her looks. :(

Because the scandal isn't about the affair, it's about conduct unbecoming of a team captain.

Well, its already done innit? He's not captain of England anymore.

But seeing that the media is still tailing JT(even taking pics of him and his wife) doesn't make it seem that way.

Again, what he did was wrong, but the way this issue has been taken, especially by the public, its just daft. I hate people who believe that JT owes an apology towards them, these highly paid football players weren't meant to be role models in the first place.

If JT fu<ked up in Chelsea colours, then I would have a reason to point my finger at him.

But I can't say that I deserve to be angry at JT in Bridge's or JT's wife's position, it just doesn't concern me and isn't my right in the first place.

I can say that I'm disappointed that things turned out this way, and with the way JT acted but thats simply where the feeling should end.

If we had an inside story on every one of these player's lives and how they spend their money, it would portray outright chaos.

Well, I pretty much agree with you Zak in as much as I really don't give a crap about all this either. That's the trouble when you are a Chelsea boy though, it's always been the same, fans and players alike are just bursting with testosterone (Y)

It is a shame Bridgey aint going to play for his country any longer though. He was always a damn good player for us and for England. He needs to grow some balls in my opinion and get on with it, but thats his business. I only care about the footie, and if he wants out then shame, but lets move on.

If you want an England captain who would be a PR mans wet dream, then I agree with Bobby. Peter Crouch is definitely the man. I think he might be too nice a bloke on the field for a Captain though. Not only that but he would also have to start every game if he was captain.

Do you exactly know all details? I don't know either, but I'm sure it's pretty hard to accept a betrayal from a friend and former partner.

Maybe he doesn't want to play for England again because he knows that he can't coexist with Terry in a pitch and he doesn't want England to suffer.

I understand that Terry is your hero and captain but you should be more fair when you talk about Bridge personality.

Listen KP, when I seperated from my ex wife, within eight weeks she was shagging one of my mates. Now I wasn't all that pleased with my mate as you can imagine, I called him a few names I can tell you. I wasn't very pleased with her either BUT, she was my ex. We were over. History. Therefore none of my business.

He remains a mate to this day, and so does she. Sometimes as an adult, you need to behave like one, and not as an immature child, but hey.....we are all different. I do not judge anyone else either. If Bridgey wants to sulk then that's up to him.

I think JT was wrong to even risk tarnishing the England captaincy. I do not condone him for that. I don't know anything about his private life so I have no opinion about any of that stuff at all.

As England captain though, he should have kept his nose clean. He should have shown more responsibility for the role, and he only has himself to blame.

You're right Pede, I can understand your case but as you mentioned it's impossible to judge either JT or bridge in that case, we know nothing.

But it's very hard to digest and accept those kind of things from ex-partner and long time friend, especially when you have a child with your ex (I saw a very bad story and titlle regarding his boy in a newspaper).

It's a shame that this topic became so public, it doesn't relate to any of us.

Now, It's 100% clear that these two players can't play in England NT together.

Owen and Bent have been snubbed by Capello again... I don't understand why Capello chooses Cole or Heskey over Bent all the time. Bent has 15 goals in 22 games this season while Cole scored 9 in 18 games and Heskey has only 3 in 20 games. I would rather call Owen rather than Heskey...

Ryan Shawcross has got a surprise call hours after he got sent off yesterday.

England squad:

James (Portsmouth), Green (West Ham), Hart (Birmingham),

Brown (Man Utd), Terry (Chelsea), Upson (West Ham), Lescott (Man City), Shawcross (Stoke), Baines (Everton), Warnock (Aston Villa),

Milner (Aston Villa), Beckham (AC Milan), Walcott (Arsenal), Lampard (Chelsea), Barry (Man City), Gerrard (Liverpool), Carrick (Man Utd), Wright-Phillips (Man City), Downing (Aston Villa),

Heskey (Aston Villa), Defoe (Tottenham), Rooney (Man Utd), Crouch (Tottenham), C Cole (West Ham).

What do you guys think of this line-up?

--------------James--------------
----------------------------------
Brown----Terry----Upson---Baines
----------------------------------
----------------------------------
Lennon---Barry---Lampard----SWP
----------------------------------
---------Gerrard------------------
-----------------Rooney----------

I don't like Rooney as the main striker though. But England lacks a good striker to partner Rooney. We'll most probably see Heskey partnering Rooney though. I thought Gerrard just behind Rooney might be a good idea since that worked perfectly for Liverpool when he played just behind Torres.

And I chose Brown as RB since Johnson is injured and Richards is not in the team.

Well, taking stuff from earlier conversation in this thread, I don't think Joey Cole will make it to the World Cup. He's running out of time, and isn't doing enough to justify his spot.

The latest squad selection is a further indication. Shame for Joey tho, even if he hasn't impressed for us lately, he always does well coming on for England. But it seems that Fabio isn't willing to give him a chance based on his club form.

I think Rooney has proven that he can play alone up front although I prefer a good old 4-4-2. Shame about J. Cole, the same as Hargreaves, although we are covered with Barry playing.
What about Agbonlahor and A. Young?

Don't make me laugh. You people take captaincy far too seriously.

More room for thought is the fact that 80% of the team is or has been the captain for there club teams. Its not like there's a shortage of 'qualified' people. Just give it anyone and be done with it. I cant see it making one bit of difference, we will have the same England outcome :innocent_smile_1:

As from the England game id love to see Rooney score more, would that add to his goal tally in a season or is that cheating?

Lennon isn't available. My team would be:

--------------Hart---------------

Brown---Upson---Terry---Warnock

Milner---Lampard---Barry---Gerrard

----------Rooney---C.Cole--------

I actually think Heskey is worth a spot in SA, but I want to see Cole in this game. We know all about James so giving Hart a go wouldn't hurt and I think Baines and Warnock should have a half each to impress.

Looks like the squad is getting away from both J.Cole and Owen. Great shame, I like both of them and still think they offer us something.

KP, I'm sure almost everyone's grown tired of seeing that since the media has literally shoved the issue down our throats for the past few weeks or so.

So I hope we could continue our discussion about the team and football in general instead of personal feuds and snubbed handshakes.

so what do you think about England vs. Egypt match?

btw, I like the idea of Gerrard playing behind Rooney (he had this role in Liverpool last year).

well, he came as a sub, scored two goals and made 100000000000 back heels.

Edit: it was a good win but Capello can't make 7 substitution at World Cup.

I expected a better performance from Wallcott ,Lampard and Defoe. SWP , Carrick and Crouch played really well.

Gerrard was fantastic in a second half when he played behind two center forwards, we need that kind of performance from him.

Rooney was tired, but he had a decent game. I hope Terry steps up, he can play a key role in Capello team.
