If he really wanted to burn bridges, why would he sit with the ultras in the last home match? Does that sort of action speak to a man who desperately wants to leave a club when he holds court for a game with fans pleading for him to stay?untouchable said:Yes because obviously he's speaking the truth, I mean he's not trying to hose the fire on the bridges he's burning right now.
Of course money is involved. If Chelsea werent going to pay him well, he wouldve just stayed in Milan and been payed well. Why would he displace his family for a few thousand pounts a week extra if something else wasnt at work in his brain. I judge players not by one muddled action for which there was months of press precedent and media speculation, but for the summation of their actions on and off the pitch. Shevchenko is one of the classiest guys in football, and he isnt liable to pin his heart on the team with the highest offer sheet. He is the antithesis of Rio FerdinandCome on! We'd be kidding ourselves if money somehow wasn't at least a little bit involved in this transfer. I dont have a problem with him moving to Chelsea for footballing reasons. Chelsea after this summer will have the best club team on the planet hands down, so if he feels that he'll achieve more at Chelsea, power to him. But when he gives a lame excuse as 'family reasons' that's where he loses respect. If I were a Milan fan I'd be kinda pissed off right now because I'd feel as if he's playing me for a fool. But hey, maybe that's just me.
