Andriy Shevchenko has just confirmed he wants to leave AC Milan for "family reasons" Chelsea are hot favourites to sign him - possibly involving Milan's interest in William Gallas to their advantage. It's all over Sky Sports news!

No Skysports News TV channel has had an update, there is a "breaking news streamer saying "Andriy Shevchenko confirms he wants to leave Milan" It's pretty much confirmed now.

I think a salary cap across Europe has become a necessity now. Seriously.

Shame it'd be nice if United at least offered Milan Van Nistelrooy as a part payment - you never know :) still leave about £20M to pay though.

I would think as a neutral him going to Chelsea is a bad thing. They are just too financially powerful - they just get everyone, no other club has a chance if they want a Chelsea target. I know we've seen United and Madrid have massive bankrolls, but the power Chelsea have in the transfer market is damn frightening. Maybe a cap should be considered in terms of salaries and spending.

I will lose respect for Shevo if he goes to Chelsea. I'd even be happier with him in a Real Madrid jersey, just to see him in La Liga.

Barcelona with Henry will stop them easily. And Gallas , arguably their best defender is leaving. Might as well add SWP to that list but Chelsea have managed to turn him into a very average player so no loss there.
