I heared he wanted to go to England because he wants to raise his son Jordan in an English enviroment.

Btw: I'm sure Milan will find another good striker. They already have 3 good strikers, so I'm not worried about Milan.

since when does shevechnko count as 3 people?

Yesterday was a truly difficult day for me and I thought long and hard before coming to this decision.

It was a troubled choice for me, but I feel the time has come to think about the future of my family and my children, who are the most important things in my life.

A few days ago, I explained my reasons to Silvio Berlusconi, who is a very special person for me, as he is the Godfather to my son. He listened and understood. ‘Do what is best for you,’ he told me. For this, and for all the things he has done for me and my family, I will be eternally grateful.

I also thank the club and Adriano Galliani, who did everything possible, and more, to keep me here.

Above all, I want to speak to the fans and ask them to accept my choice. I have read your messages this week and many of them brought a tear to my eye. I also understand your anger and disappointment, but I request that you accept my decision as a man. What you have given me over these years has been unique and you always made me feel at home. To stand in the Curva with you was one of the strongest emotions I have ever experienced in my life. You have a piece of my heart and will be there always.

LMAO, family reasons my ass. He had it all in Milan, great city, great culture, great team, the fans' adulation, fame, fortune....yet he wants to move to Chelsea? Why didn't he want to raise his family in England a few years ago before Abramovich came? He's just another money whore like Ballack, it's a shame, I thought he was a nice guy too.
Money whore?

Despite the fact Milan offered to match any deal Chelsea gave him, pound for pound?

I don't speak decent English :( Particulary, I've got definite problems with Inversion, Emphasis and Relative clause.

Yes because obviously he's speaking the truth, I mean he's not trying to hose the fire on the bridges he's burning right now.

Come on! We'd be kidding ourselves if money somehow wasn't at least a little bit involved in this transfer. I dont have a problem with him moving to Chelsea for footballing reasons. Chelsea after this summer will have the best club team on the planet hands down, so if he feels that he'll achieve more at Chelsea, power to him. But when he gives a lame excuse as 'family reasons' that's where he loses respect. If I were a Milan fan I'd be kinda pissed off right now because I'd feel as if he's playing me for a fool. But hey, maybe that's just me.
