Deulofeu wasn'yt exactly a success at Everton either, he was mostly a bench player. That Sevilla dropped both Barca players should mean wonders in terms of their ability to come in and make an impact for Barca.

Deulofeu had a very disapointing season, Emery said he has the talent but not the mentality. He is still a stupid arrogant kid with a lot to learn.

I find Ochoa in bad taste. He wasn't even given a chance! :(

Rumors of Sterling to Madrid getting more and more buzz ... maybe it's time for Ronaldo to play ST role after all, if Perez brings Pogba, Sterling, and David De Gea ... your lineup is fucking scary

Ronaldo
Bale-James-Sterling
Kroos-Pogba
Marcelo-Ramos-Varane-Danilo
De Gea

Madrid should learn their lesson and not sell players like Benzema and Modric to have good squad depth ... the only weak point is Marcelo in this system ... even if Benzema leaves, they should bring Carlos*son Martinez with 25-30m ...

It's fantastic after 3 years all big clubs in soccer world want Pogba on top of their transfer list ... FERGIE!!!!

What are you talking about? Marcelo has been huge this season.

I respect your opinion, maybe that World Cup affected my judgement on him ...

There are many weak points but Marcelo is not one

Learn to not asslick every Arnau/Dytze point, he mentioned Macelo is not a weak point ... you don't need to repeat it ... look at Jaboldinho post ... he discussed both Sterling and Modric, new points ... you mentioned I don't bring much to table in discussions but you are the worst ...

Regarding Sterling, La Liga is the best place for him to improve, he's just 20, maybe not a starter at first but in long term, he can flourish at Real

Dude, you are stupid. Marcelo has been one of their best players, maybe the best defender this season (including Ramos Pepe etc). Modric is the best CM when fit, Kroos has been a joke and Sterling is fucking overrated. You drop Isco, Benzema and Modric for Sterling? Madrid denied any contact wkth Pogba but I can see him in that pathetic team.
Ronaldo is already playing as a striker and Benzema is the best partner for him atm at Madrid.

This is what happens when you dont actually watch La Liga and you want to sound smart.

I didn't watch lots of Real matches ... but he was awful at World Cup ever since that mistake against Croatia ...

As I mentioned in my reply to Dytza, I may be wrong, maybe he did very well in La Liga this season ... but the performance of those Brazil players like David Luiz and Marcelo is hard to forget ...

Back to Sterling case, Sir_Didier_Drogba is right, he may not be ready for another country yet, but I think his style is perfect for Spain ... If he stays in England, Chelsea is the best club for him for sure ... Mourinho will make him great ...

I don't know about that either - he needs playing time, and to be a key player, I don't know if Chelsea can offer that, especially if he doesn't make an immediate impact. But he also needs champions league. I think his best course of action would be a move to arsenal with a plan to springboard to a CL title challenging club in 3 years. Man Utd would be a good option also but Liverpool won't sell to them.

It's hard for British players to go abroad, we're all monolingual and there aren't big bases of English speakers at spanish or Italian clubs, lower class (as footballers usually are) Englishman don't adapt well to moving abroad young, nor do their bimbo wives, and foreign players tend to form cliques against them because of inherent anglophobia on the continent. We need more Brits to go abroad to reverse this problem, but I don't see raheem at this age being the trend setter. I like Ramsay to Barca rumours though.

People should understand that the World Cup was a max 7 matches competition, and it's been 1 year since then.

It's still very, disproportionately important though. You get to see a how a player performs under the biggest pressure, under the most scrutiny. You also get to see how they play with teammates other than those they play with week in week out, with different tactics and managers, sometimes surrounded by weaker (or even stronger) players than usual and in different stadiums, under stricter refereeing, even in different countries. It's a great way to see the extent to which a player is successful because of himself or is propped up by circumstances at the club he happens to be at, crucial if you are looking to buy a player and take him away from that club.

Of course it sometimes backfires, but in general I am a big advocate of disproportionately judging players on their performances at world cups and confederation tournaments.

Not denying that at all, but ignoring a WHOLE season because of a bad match at the WC doesn't seem fair.
