The Spanish waiter seems like the most likely candidate according to several rumours. I don't know how that would fare since Madrid is Madrid and Benítez likes to have a lot of control over the signings, his players etc. If granted that, he might not be such a bad choice afterall. It would probably be like a night and day compared to Ancelotti since Rafa likes to rotate his players quite a bit. I wonder how are the likes of Ronaldos willing to accept that. Looking forward to it should he actually be the new manager for you guys! I guess it could go similar to the way Juve appointed Allegri. Most fans weren't too enthusiastic about it at first and weren't really expecting much, but see where they are right now. Also he's quite familiar with the club which is a big bonus. Could go horribly wrong as well which would ensue a huge meltdown for him and the team.

Not 100% sure about it but I guess at some point he stopped being a big enough name for Real Madrid, lacks that real superstar aura that Perez wants at Madrid. I mean from a World Cup winner, he was a starter I believe for Germany to a bench warmer at Real for Illarramendi. Now that's how you manage a club!theo;3816010 said:
The guy has decent enough pace, no Valencia though, good strenght. Good tackler, main role box-to-box midfielder, can play the holding role as well. Likes to get forward and score an odd goal here and there. Passing probably not one of his strongest assets, but still good at that too. All in all a quality player when fit, just another Real Madrid outcast starting from this (last now) season. I guess that should sum it up mostly. Oh and stamina is not his weakest attribute either, can run all day.

you're right ... but he has a league title on his beloved CV ...
Messi/Neymar/Suarez will all be involved in Coppa America and with their current transfer ban ... Real has a good chance for the league title ... also, add the fact they need to play fifa world club cup and some other super cup matches with their current squad that may lack depth after Xavi and and probably Alves departure ...
