And yeh i'm a wanna fan alright :|

And I was born in England, just live in USA for stupid reasons, so don't just say because im a yank or whatever. And i've supported man utd my whole life. :)

Well, I've used a wrong phrase. My fault.
U know, english isn't my mother tongue.
And, well, i suppose it was hard when England lost in the matter of minutes...
As it was hard for me when Juve, about 2-3 years ago in semi or final of CL, lost against ManU under the pretty same circumstances.

But u can't say that Zidane didn't do nothing to become a football legend.
It hurts man :(
:D

Anyway, peace yank... I mean, bro :D (Y)

I never said he wasn't a legend.

Just that scoring a FK and a PK didn't make him the Legend he is.

What makes a legend is his contribution to the national side as well as club, but international events is what people are remembered for.

Ronaldo won the golden ball in the 98 world cup, and then in 2002 he clearly should of won it and he dominated by scoring 8 goals and winning the competition. That is what is goign to build a legend.

Pele won 3 world cups, and dominated in each, Maradona won one world cup and he ruled it, that is what makes an unforgettable player. Its when he owns the World Cup.

In 2006 I dont know if Ronaldo or Ronaldinho will dominate it more, but if Ronaldo has another great world cup I reckon he will be remembered more than Zidane

I'd say Zinedine Zindane or Ronaldinho if they continue at least at the rate at which they are going right now.

zidane going at the same rate he is now? He is going downhill because of his age, although he is still f'n good. But his time of being the best in the world are over :(

Carlos Tevez maybe?
he is beeing compared with Maradona, and Maradona himself said that the only player in the world worth paying to see is Tevez.

Or maybe Ronaldinho...

I think Thierry Henry is the player today who should be closest to having a legend status. He dominates one of the best leagues in the world year after year, topping the points rankings (goals & assists) clearly. He's won the World Cup and the European Championship.

I know he hasn't performed to the max in the Champions League, but he's 27 (?) and still has many years in front of him to do this. Besides, to win a competition like that, more than ONE of your players must perform.

And remember: football has changed drastically since Pele and Maradona played the game.
