Zidane is obviously the next great footballer after maradona and pele

Performs both on club and international levels unlike henry

Ronaldinho a bit too young and has a lot more to prove on international level

I'm surprised as most of you don't acknowledge Zinedine Zidane as your generation's best player. He's the only footballer to really stand out and reach 'Great' status.

Hrm. I change my vote to Zizou. I mean, take his age into account. He's been doing great things over sooo many years. Still working his magic.

Magic. :mrpimp:

Zidane, Henry, Ronaldo, and Ronaldino will be jugded years from now.

As of now the closest is Zidane, but he is by far a level below Maradona and Pele. The rest have a lot to prove.

Sevchenko is up and coming, he might suprise us all.

Man, how could be a footballer like Zinedine Zidane by far a level below Maradona and Pele?
That's like you say that todays computers are by far a level below Commodore 64 or 486.

My point is: physics training and football today is definately different then a time when Maradona and Pele played...
In other words - better.

But, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Zidane is better, but not by far level below, man :kader:

You're totally right. I hate that when fans and the media praise legends and make them untoucheable. Records are their to be broken and new legends will always come and go.

Please people

You all know Lee Trundle is the next Pelé ;)

Seriously Ronaldinho is an amazing player, all his abilities almost match that of Maradona's. Truly a great player.

Ronaldinho is great but Maradona was something else , I don't think we will see anyone as good for a very long time.

it all comes down to playmakers which Maradona and Pele were, imho Maradona has been the best and will be the best, on this last few years id say Zidane not because he gave us a WC but because he is one of the greatest playmakers of all time, id say yes he is already up there with playmakers like Maradona, Platini and van Basten

Zidane.

The most talented player of the late 90s, early 00s. His list of accomplishments; individual, as well as both at club and international level, is unparalleled by anyone else playing today.

Ronaldinho?

This season he is not doing like he did the season before.

Why people never name Di Stefano and Cruyff ? they didnt won the World Cup, but they won some Champions League.

Di Stefano was the man who "created" many football moves used actually like doing a bike usually, or other moves never saw in a football match. Apart he won 5 Champions League being the star of his team (nuff said). Injuries didnt let them play World Cups.

Cruyff won CL with Ajax and then was succesful too with Barça, Apart he reached 2 WC Finals. Being the captain of his team.

Pele? Never played at high level in Europe so we cant rate it so high cause raping brazilians teams.

Maradona? He made a winner team from Napoli, but after that he never won any European champinship.

now feel free of insulting me ! :P

I kind of agree.

I dont know why players like Cruyff, Beckenbauer,Di Stefano, Charlton dont get any credit...

Some of you are real jokes, you think that your the right person to judge that Maradona and Pele are the greatest...they were super players at the time im not saying otherwise but most of us have seen them play on 20 year old video tapes only!
