Pele, Maradona and Now...

To be honest I don't really like this kind of comparison. It places too much pressure on a player. They should just say "he will be a very good player" and to be honest there won't be another Pele or Maradona or Van Basten and such. there will be Adriano, Zidane, Ronaldo and such.

totally agree with you. Nobody will be a Di Stefano, Pele, Maradone, Eusebio, etc....

Times are different, playing styles are completely different. a player from the 50's is totally diferent from a player from the 90's.

Personally, in my opinion, players are better on average now then in the time of Pele, Di Stefano, etc..

Pele, Maradona are legends, yes, but there won't be anybody like them ever again.

Now IMO the next legends are:
Ronaldinho

Personally i only feel there is one player, playing now, that has potential to be a LEGEND

Ronaldinho, Adriano, and Cassano(if he keeps his head on his shoulders) are most likley the next possible "legends" if you wanna call it that.....they all have the potential and are still really young so we just gotta wait to see how there careers go from here

Agreed... times are different now and there's no way a player will dominate a game or a tournament or even a team all the time..this is what pele and maradona did..... although i do think Ronaldinho if he can be more effective than disappearing for 3 or 4 games and be injury free will be the closest.....

after my pick of course

Kevin Kilbane..f*****g legend :rockman:

YES!!! That's what I like to read :rockman:

But in my opinion....i think that playing football now is more difficult than in the time of Maradona and Pele...

Maradona made of Napoli a winner Team...and he made great games and Pele, too

But I prefer a Ronaldinho or a Zidane 100 times more than a Maradona or a Pele...the moves that they make are totally different!
The moves are harder...and the defenders, too! ;)

For me, it existing many players that can be @ the same level like Maradona, Pele or
Eusebio
for Example: Zizou...Ronaldinho...Ronaldo...Figo...Deco...Henry...etcetera

They're all special players...and they can all be compared to Pele, Maradona, Eusebio, Platini...

football today is harder than it was in Maradona and Pele time. today there is no space. as soon as you get the ball you are surounded by defenders.

In Maradona and Pele time you could easily move up the field before you get a defender next to you trying to take the ball.

I do think Ronaldinho, Zidane and Ronaldo are in the same class a Pele or Maradona.

Ronaldinho has a long way to go. He has to achieve something at club level.

Deco is not even the best player on his team so how can he become a legend?

imho, Deco, or maybe Xavi is more important to Barcelona than Ronaldinho. Dont ask me how my logic works, it is too difficult to understand :).

LOL?

He is at the moment @ the same level like Ronaldinho, and I've said that they can be all compared to Maradona and Pele...For me Pele or Maradona are no Legends!
Deco is in a good form @ the moment
