Pele, Maradona and Now...

I would say Ronaldinho if he plays consistantly well throught-out his career.

I don't know if anyone else will be named in the same breath as Pele or Maradona.

I wish people would stop calling every youngster coming up in the same position as the next Pele or Maradona

Zidane is the only one that is comparible yet still no player was as succesful as Pele and Maradona at a young age. Pele won the World Cup in his teens. He didn't just play in the final but he scored. I just don't see a youngster being that influential unless Cesc can continually improve. I think Cesc will be the next Zidane but not the next Pele or Maradona.

I thought Fabregas was a defensive midfielder. One similar to Viera

I can't believe no one mentioned Roberto Baggio! Maradona himself once said that the only player that could even be compared to him was the Dinive Ponytail..

If it wasn't for that penalty he would have been heralded as one of the greatest winner in history.. Zidane should not even stand in his shadow..

But it must be said that Baggio in his career was very unlucky, while Zidane won the World Cup... But you should just imagine what Baggio would have become if he had won that match...

He dragged the entire italian team to the final all alone by himself..

Definately Zinedine Zidane. I mean seriously. The defence of those times and the difference between opponents wasn't as close as it is now, but even so Zidane is still a magical player who still puts some of the best defences in the world to shame. His passes, his moves, his grace.

Maradona and Pele will always be considered the best, but in my eyes Zidane who is playing in a time with tougher D can definately be said in the same breath.

Cesc has been playing a more defensive mid position but his distribution is incredible because of his great ability to see the field (like zidane) and he wanders forward a little more then someone like Vieira. I think he will eventually be encouraged to create and be given the responsibility of running a team like Zidane. Just have to be patient.

Noone from the last 10 years should be remembered with Maradona or Pele.

Zidane will be the most remembered and Ronaldo #2.

It's too early to say Ronaldinho

I see what you mean. I think he'll end up still as a defensive mid but also a creative one. Only the greats can pull off such a dominant midfield position and if Fabregas does continue to improve, he could be one of the best players of this generation

Starting XI
definately Ronaldo and Zidane

I reckon more Ronaldo because he's had more success on the international level, and latin america in general and after the next world cup who knows what we'll be saying about him.

I think the discussion of Maradona and Pele will turn into Zidane and Ronaldo.

The gols of Pele and Ronaldo with the touch of Maradona and Zidane

See its a beautiful world after all!
