u can try it urself just empty the contents of the ai.ini file and then attach it to config.dat, the game will then use ai variables frm in.big
hope i have made myself clear.
Ock - just so I am clear - when your new update comes out - I install it and then install NK's GP patch and check the CEP compatible circle...correct? this will give me your stats - right? Now, is this what NK is doing? when he keeps telling us how great his new patch is - is he using CEP compatible? I just wanna make sure I get his GP installed correctly.OckHAM said:There are new career.ini settings for the CEP if you are interested in a CEP compatible version for the new release that will be published saturday, so mail me when you need it.

It's been a while...and I know V5 is well underway...but just had a chance to play about four or five games in a row for the first time in quite a while using V4...and I've got to say...I was doubting you for a while...but I've got to say you are right on track.
As always...your gameplays have a great deal of depth to them...and v4 was no different. After grasping some of the nuances...the pace of the game...the lack of room given by the CPU defense...the shooting...etc. I have been able to really play this game...and have been really thrilled with the results. Playing as ManU against Rangers...gave up an own goal by Ferdinand in the 49th minute...and was bogged down against a tough defense. But pressing forward in a 4-3-3 with Saha on as a substitute...I began to stretch that defense...and freed up Rooney at the top of the "D". He stepped quickly to his left...and with a quick jink freed himself to rip a shot from just beyond the top of the box. Waterreuss was wrong footed...and the ball just flew in past the near post. A great 1-1 game in the start of my "G20" League.
Then a couple of exhibitions...AC Milan against Siena. Gilardino scored on the first trip down the field scoring low left of the keeper from 18 yards out straight on. Siena scored a beauty on 32 minutes...and the game seemed to be coming to a draw. But late on I shifted into an aggressive mode...and Gilardino sprinted down the left channel in the 90th minute. As he ran...I noticed the midfielders didn't follow Schevchenko who was running down the middle of the field. Despite the presence of the right wing back...the right center back was watching Gilardino. I swung wide and then placed a high cross over the RCB's head...and Schevvy rose right on cue and blasted a header that just scraped the underside of the cross bar and rattled home on the last kick of the game. My first win against your nasty patch!!!!
Then I wanted to test the chages the Lyon squad has gone through with my roster update...so I randomised an opponent and came up with AS Nancy. This was a blow out from the start. Malouda scoring on rebound from a Fred shot in the 33rd minute...then Fred scoring on a rebound from a Gouvou canon blast in the 45th minute. Then..with Nancy pressing forward in the 85th minute...Gouvou went on an electrifying 60 yard run down the right wing...cut inside the last defender and drilled a shot inito the lower left corner. Perhaps the prettiest goal I've ever scored. Yet...despite the 3-0 final score line...the shots on goal were 8-6..and Nancy had several spells of good possession and had some good shots that were well-saved. Despite an "easy" victory...I never felt totally at ease.
Thisis great feeling stuff. The CPU really works to hang on to the ball...and builds attacks...and true to the real game...there are several periods in every game where you feel under siege...and have to defend at your best. Long shots...both yours and the computers...can be tricky and are an important part of the game again. The shooting is just about right on and you have mentioned shooting is often rewarded with goals. No more out shooting your opponent 18-0 and settling for a 0-0 draw.
The only criticism...and it's only slight...is that the computer forwards seem to be very adept at defending in the defensive end...causing some unrealistic ice hockey type of "forechecking"...I saw this in an earlier post...so I know you know about it.
I know this isn't short...and I hope you can get something out of this Nick...but V4 is a thing of beauty. I know you'll continue working and tweaking and improving...and I'll be there. Great stuff!
Cheers,
mutiger

So, as a little experiment I pasted the "defensive tuning" parameters from Biggy's (easier) patch into your own and voila....it's still bloody hard but at least I can now defend again. If anyone wants to try this it can be done easily using notepad and importing the amended ai.ini file back into ini.big using BigGUI program.
Mattwinter said:Wow that's a nice goal, interesting that it's another long goal that hits the woodwork - this tends to happen more than goals going in without hitting the posts... in all the different gameplay's I've tried anyway.
But a nice goal, and I'm really looking forward to this patch, only criticisim i still have is that it still sounds very difficult, so I'm hoping there is more variation between difficulty levels.
Sometimes some guys including me like to mess around with our own preferred ai settings, but if i used a config.dat that contained ai settings then those settings would everride my edited ai settings in the ini.big file.so if u used a config.dat with empty ai.ini then we could have the best of both worlds, our own edited ai settings loaded from the ini.big file and ur edited career and common settings deom config file.that way ur config.dat file can be used by any person who uses his own ai settings and not worry about editing the config.dat file.OckHAM said:I frankly can't see the point and the problem.
Nope the cpu always subs in my game ,never had a prob with that.maybe u have kept subs off in the ini.big filenickclubman said:nope, if you put an empty AI file into the config.dat you wouldn't see any CPU subs.

I decided to experiment thoroughly your GPU (version 4.0) this night, and i have to say that i loved the way the CPU is playing now... in a much more diverse and inteligent way...
But my problem now is that, i played in Legendary difficulty... and the results were
*3-1 (i won playing Juve against Spurs; without much effort)
*2-1 (i won playing Juve against Real Madrid; very easy win... they didn't troubled me much)
*5-1 (i won playing Juve against AC Milan; most disapoiting game... AC Milan looked like a team of the Third Division or something like that )
That's really a blow for me, bcoz i was expecting a much more challenging patch, taking in account that i was playing in the Legendary difficulty... i hope version 5.0 is much harder than this one... CPU has to be more agressive both in defence and attack...
But anyway, a very interesting patch...
