Results after a 16-minute match, World class. I got killed!

No fouls which is a shame, but this is going to be looked into.

V5 NEWS: Now more than ever you must defend well against the 'star teams' (Barcelona, Man-Utd, Real Madrid, Arsenal, etc) as they will attack and be much more clinical in front of goal and score much easier against you if you defending is poor and their defending will be much better, so your attacking better shape up too!! No longer will you have 20+ shots on goal with 0 goals. If you keep getting shots at goal, then you'll most likely score a few goals. No longer is it a game which consists of an 'easy to break defence with superman between the posts'. Now, breaking the defence is a challenge and aiming the shot is much harder, but beating the goalkeeper is skillfull and you'll score goals without even putting much power behind the shot. Accuracy plays a bigger part now. No longer are goalkeepers impossible to beat from far out, anything the CPU can do you can do better ;) And visa-versa if you give them the chance. The goals you and the CPU score are going to look VERY cool. In fact, click on the download below and put all these V5 replays into you FIFA 06 folder (my documents). Believe it or not most of these goals are score by me and only a couple by the CPU....can you tell which ones? ;) Check out the speed difference in players' and the way the ball reacts.

In fact, the ONLY goal the CPU scores in these replays is the last one 'V58', which I kept for obvious reasons of beautiful passing. Each of these goals are scored in world class mode. The one with the two barca goals were scored in same match. Check out my run with the Brazil player to make the cross, I almost finished the volley with ronaldo too. I was gutted!!

new results

new results, played away with AC Milan vs Munich who played at home (CPU). I lost 1-0, 16 minute match. Not much action at both ends, but very fun and each attack on goal from either me or against me by CPU was a rush!!

Yeah 1 foul kinda sucked, there's usually 3 or 4, but I'm going to see what I can do with it.

This game is going to play much better than any version of my update.

I have updated the intensity of the game to play at a much more attacking level, the CPU will attack and shoot much more and you'll notice how they keep coming at you even when they're 2-0 up, they just want more! Of course there are variations in play, but nevertheless the game is much harder in terms of CPU attacking.

The Barca - Real 0-4 with such quantity of CPU shoots can mean two things:

- or you are really bad at playing :D
- or (what I think) now the difficulty started to be a bit unrealistic.

I don't think it's need an impossible game, but a realistic and fun one: I still believe your masterpiece is your 2nd release for the results achieved.

lol, I'm starting to get to the point where World Class is actually at a better playing level then I am! Hence they had so many shots against me. But not every game is like that! Some games you and the CPU will have like 3 shots each in first half and a couple more in the second and it'll be balanced and in other games you might break the defence real easy and completely destroy them! Now THAT ia fun!!! Cause you know in the next match it might be the other way around. I've edited a new file to keep this update fresh and it seems to be working ;)

V5 is playing better than v1, v2, v3 and v4. Ball physics are better, shooting, attacking, defending, pace of game, player attributes. Everything is just improved and tuned much more realistically.

It is an update for the skilled player so I wouldn't go straight into Legendary.

Nick why not release a Beta of V5 let people test it - offering opinions - maybe pointing something out you may have missed?

V5 won't be put through a beta test I'm afraid :)

I'm sure they'll be a V6 and I'll put your name on the e-mail contacts. Beta testing is something I do early in development.

I agree with many that my V3 update is the best I have done so far, although without the variables of V4, a lot of V5 wouldn't be done and I wouldn't have created something, which I believe stands out as my best update yet.

In certain situations such as the positional play of ball to player I keep taking the game from one extreme to the other to see what differences it makes and how it feels, then using my vistopen method to see how much realism there is in it and making sure I get it down right in order to create an entertaining game of football. I'd hate to make a realistic update which wasn't fun. My main factor is 'fun!'

Hopefully I'll find a key balance as it does play differently to my other updates, as I said I started from scratch with the A.I file.

The update is definately the most playable and entertaining. Controlling a good, 5 star team against say a 3 star team you'll notice a difference in the attributes and most likely have a great match, that if you play well in the difficulty mode you are in, you should technically have more shots and overpower that team! Example i played as barcelona v cpu real madrid and lost 6-0 today, i got ragged!!! So then i loaded up a match as me playing man-utd against cpu leeds united and won 3-0. My goals were sexual!! haha, they went in from outside the box, whereas with Barcelona most my shots went over the bar, then again I only managed 8 shots out of the 16 minute match with about 3 on target. PLus with man-utd, my players' such as C.Ronaldo could outrun say 2 defenders abd 'skill' past others much, MUCH easier than say against that blasted Real Madrid defence! There's so much fun here :D

V5 increases and encourages a more unpredictable game.
Can't wait to release this one! ;)

There are new career.ini settings for the CEP if you are interested in a CEP compatible version for the new release that will be published saturday, so mail me when you need it.

This is a fine example of where all these 'patches' end up tripping over each other. If Nick includes your CAREER.INI with his gameplay update then it immediately becomes 'incompatible' for anyone trying to use the supplied career settings (unless they know enough to extract the individual .INI files and look for such differences, eliminating any they don't want - but that rather defeats the object of you folks putting in all this work so that the rest of us can just reap the rewards of your efforts). Worse, they may not realise that the career parameters have been changed (since the side effects of such 'patches' are not always made apparent before installation)

I wonder if there is any mileage in producing an INI patcher program that can be used to apply (and remove) such updates in such a way that any unchanged parameters are untouched by the process?? Hmmmm

If you downloaded and played previous versions of NK gameplay you should know that cep career settings are not the default but can be installed through an otpional choice during the installation process. Putting the career.ini outside the config.dat could be a solution, but not all the parameters contained in the external file overwrite the ones in the config.dat. Anyway this really seems a no-problem due to the type of installer nk is used to release.

Actually imo the config.dat file need not contain the ai.ini file ,what the config.dat file does is it overrides any values present in the ai.ini present in ini.big.it is perfectly possible to put an empty ai.ini file in the config.dat so that the game uses the variables from the ini.big file.The point i am trying to make here is Ockham.u can release only a config.dat(with an empty ai.ini ) file urself while NK need provide only ini.big files,that way u dont have to depend upon changing ur config.dat file for each of NK's updates.
u can try it urself just empty the contents of the ai.ini file and then attach it to config.dat,the game will then use ai variables frm in.big
hope i have made myself clear.
