traditional :)

usually NT doesnt change kits colors, most of them use the same for long years :p

Home kits don't change for years but away kits change a lot it depends on the country but some change every two years. Like Holland we have had in the last 10 years Blue, white, Black, Nassau Blue away shirts. It changes every 2 years in Hollands case.

Seeing as next year will be the 50th anniversary of Brazil's first World Cup win I reckon this away shirt is based on the "makeshift" away kit they wore in the World Cup final in 1958, which was a plain blue shirt with yellow numbers. I say makeshift because I recall reading an article that Brazil had to rush out and buy a set of change jerseys for the final match against the host nation Sweden, as they only brought their home kit with them for the tournament.

I guess the addition of a bit of yellow trim is just to add a bit of contrasting colour to an otherwise plain jersey, particularly as I'd guess the numbers will be yellow as well.

I'm not sure how long it is since Brazil had a non-blue away kit but I'd guess it'd be 50 years or more, apparently they wore blue as a home kit between 1950 and 1953 after the "Maracanaço", before adopting the familiar yellow kit in 1954. I've seen an away shirt on the retro shirt manufacturer TOFFS' website in dark green with yellow collar labelled as "1950's away" but I'm not sure what exact year or indeed if such a kit existed.

That Brazil kit is great!

btw i heard it when the copa america was on tv between Brazil and something else :D
Brazil only took the usual Yellow-blue kit for the World Cup(as easyeasyeasy said) and they simply went out and bought the first t-shirts they found xD

post up a pic, mate ... would like to have a look at it ....
I can't post a pic of the kit directly as TOFFS' website doesn't allow hotlinking, but I can give you the link to the page it is on...

It's quite a curious one, and whilst I'm on the subject of curious past Brazil shirts on TOFFS I noticed a few which could possibly be inaccurate on this page, notably a dark green away shirt from the 60's, the blue away shirt from the '66 World Cup (they never used an away shirt in that tournament), and a white "away" shirt from 1949, which is an oddity considering white was the home kit colour up until 1950.

haha, the first shirts they found? no way?! what's the full story? and why'd the chuck the white shirt with blue and green piping? -- you know, the one they played the Centenary match with ....
The shirt they wore in the FIFA Centenary match was based on their first ever kit from 1914, but up until 1950 the Brazil home kit was usually white with blue collar and trim.

Brazil discarded the white kit after the 2-1 defeat to Uruguay in the final pool match of the 1950 World Cup in the Maracanã, which just so happened to be the decider. In 1953 the Correio da Manhã ran a competition to design a new kit incorporating the colours of the Brazilian flag, more info you can read about here.

LOL that Monterrey third kit, just as well they've got that third kit, considering they'd be proper fecked if they played a team in blue and white stripes with their first two kits. :D

I thought there's a rule (fifa/uefa) that the teams must have a pale shirt and a dark shirt?!?!

France has a blue one and a red one, both dark.
