New Kits 2007/2008

Man U have revealed the kit they will wear in the derby, an exact replica of the kit of 1958. No logos, no badges (badges were only ever worn for cup finals back in those days) and they will wear the traditional numbering system of 1-11 instead of squad numbers.

Disgraceful, I could buy a teamwear shirt for about £15 and stick the logo's on myself. Also there's nothing wrong with Nuremberg's current third kit used in domestic competition (navy blue)...... moneygrabbers! :kader:

exactly my opinion...i'd rather have the blue shirt which they do not sell (god knows why!) than this blatant derby rip off. :( seriously, you can get those logos for a few € in the shop and put them on yourself.

Looks perfect.

I thought they would of just made copies of the kikt we wore last season, but that looks fantastic, no trim on the sleeves.

Would of been good to have the Phoenix United wore in the Cup final immedately after the tragedy, but I guess the club's being exact.

It will be one great day.

Funnily enough Bayer Leverkusen's goalkeeper wears a shirt exactly the same, it's such a boring minimalist design from last season. I'm surprised Nuremberg are even selling it for whatever €70 is in pounds, it reminds me of Borussia Dortmund's "Christmas Kit", a cheap pub shirt for a blatant cash-in.

to be honest i consider getting it just to complete my collection, but i am really not willing to spend that much money on a pubteam template...damn it!

"From last season"?

I remember Zalaegerszeg(Hungarian team) wore a same type of kit back in 2002-03, only the lines which are called 'design' were only on the sleeves, so it's not that new :)

That design which Zalaegerszeg used a few years ago is similar, but not the same, but is a typical Adidas pub team kit... funnily enough I recall Nuremberg had that design for an away kit but in white and red with a red crew-necked collar.

Anyway this thread refuses to die, Stuttgart are surely challenging Sevilla for the most kits in a season award. This black number is the fifth kit they've used, I suppose the home, away, gold third and yellow fourth kits aren't enough!

Sevilla had different kits for different competitions. But Stuttgart,, I'd burn down their megastore if I was one of their fans.

Yeah, that is why i said the same style but the lines were only on the sleeves

Oh and what do we have here...Sevilla's "most kits in one year" title has a serious challenger

Yeah, it's a very superfluous kit, just like the yellow/black variant that they wore earlier this season at Hamburg, which, they could have worn yesterday. Even that yellow kit was a strange addition to their collection, given the gold/dark red V1.06 kit they had last season as a third kit was also kept as this season's third kit. Also the shorts with this fifth kit look like a standard issue pair that you could buy from a teamwear catalogue, they don't even match the shirt, and also they were worn with the yellow/black kit too.

Yes Sevilla had different shirts for different competitions but they still used five kits, well, six if you include the one-off kit they wore for the Supercup game. Maybe even seven if you consider their reserve team! (H)

Getafe have revealed their Copa Del Rey final kit...

This will be the fifth kit they'll have used this season, after the home, away and third kits in domestic competition and the blue UEFA Cup kit with black and pink trim. As soon as I saw that kit it struck me as being a Cardiff City away kit, but with blue instead of black (same make Joma).

What...there's a race between clubs, who uses more kits in one season?
Using a unique kit for one single game is REALLY necessary isn't it

and if memory serves me correctly, Sevilla did the same for both their UEFA Cup finals ... also, they had a completely different home/away for Europe this season ... but this has to do more with the management than the fans demanding any such thing ... I think I remember Sevillista once mentioning that if the true Sevilla fans had their way, the team would be wearing an all-white kit with nothing on the shirt except the Sevilla badge over the heart ...
That's exactly right, which is why I have actually been supportive of different jerseys for the final. For four of the five we've had, the special jerseys were significantly more traditional than the jerseys we would have worn. And everytime they are made the fans wonder why we didn't have jerseys like this to begin with! Our regular season/European jerseys are always mucked up by unnecessary stripes and such... and when it comes to historic moments, are those the jerseys we want in the photos?

Getafe, however, look like they've done the opposite. These jerseys look pretty awful. Last year they got it right. Here's a picture showing how final-jerseys can be done right:

That's my favorite jersey of Sevilla's in recent history. And the best Getafe jersey as well.. though I'm no expert on their jerseys.

The Germans have caught the one-off cup final kit bug too - Borussia Dortmund have revealed their kit for the DFB Cup final, yet another Nike pub team template...

So that's three home kits they'd have used this season, after the regular home kit and the one their wore in December (another pub template branded the "Christmas kit")... and they're still asking fans to pay around about 40 quid for it, surely that's gross exploitation?
