Since there's no bearing on how much you make, I usually don't even bother to look at how much they offer. I just go by prestige of the club or how many years they wanna tie me up for.

It's just a personal pride thing - I care about the number of trophies and awards I win, I care about my reputation and I care about having a higher salary than all the other managers. For me it is a way of marking achievement and progress in the game.

I needed to move on.

I accomplished my goal of winning the league in Romania and didn't see this team winning a continental competition in the next few years. I wanted to move abroad and take on a new challenge. I saved before quitting and might return to the ACS Poli game in the future because it has a great base to "take a small European team to continental victory".

For now I'm managing the U23 Cameroon team for the Olympics. But it's weird because their main squad has no manager, and I can select players for it, so I might be the main NT's manager as well, I'll see what happens after the Olympics. With the main NT it will be a great opportunity because I'd have a good chance to win the African Nations cup, which is one of my goals.

Toronto is not doing well in the MLS and the manager is under pressure. I hope the job becomes available.

Somehow lost to South Korea but beat Italy.

Got lucky and got Canada in the quarters. And if I win I get Ghana or USA.

edit: Lost to USA in the semis.

edit2: So I didn't have a job after the Olympics, but I applied to Cameroon and got that.

Are you keeping an eye on jobs in the South African Premier Division? If you can get a strong South African club you can have a quick shot at the CAF Champions League. Not a bad option right now while managing the Cameroon NT.

I started a game in the MLS for the first time ever as I thought it might help me understand how it worked, I played as Vancouver (of course) and I fucking hated it, I made a complete balls up of transfers because of the salary cap and I didnt realize that if I "waived" players I lost them so I signed some players then immediately lost them without them playing a game. Anyway I got sacked after about 9 months for bad MLS performance even though I was 5th in the conference and Vancouver are hardly one of the best MLS teams out there. Fucking ridiculous division, nuts. Never again.

I want to win the NA CL with a MLS team for the challenge, instead of a Mexican team because of what you described... I've been playing in the MLS since fm06 and yes it can be quite frustrating. I usually don't play there unless I have a good reason. I've started many games before that I abandoned. You really have to plan your salaries and signed players very very well.

Before starting this game I had a look in the editor at which Champions League had the lowest rep and the North American one was it. That's why I have my mind set on managing a MLS team, to build from lowest to highest(Europe). Interestingly, African and Asian CLs had the same rep.

I haven't yet applied or been rejected for a MLS team and I will apply at the next opening. If that doesn't work I might try either Asia or Africa. And naturally I am going to use a South African team because it's the only African league that comes with the game. I probably don't want to waste time so I'll look to go to a top team like Orlando Pirates.

With Cameroon I'm hoping to win the ACN. I decided I should try to get all major trophies, including international ones as well.

Big competition under my belt! Now I don't have to fight for it in the future. I was fortunate, especially with Morocco but my team played well every game. It was cool getting revenge over Nigeria in the finals. Their team had 2 overtime matches back-to-back and were more tired than me, I attribute winning to that a lot. I was lucky in getting the easiest group as well.

I had some terrible injuries. Both my #1 and #2 goalies got injured. My 2nd best player behind Song, Nkoulou, got injured before the tournie started but came back in the semis and got MoM. And my best performing attacking midfielder was injured before the tournament. My main striker getting injured during the competition was a blessing in disguise because big man Kweuke performed much better afterwards. 35 year old Eto'o came on as a sub and scored one or two crucial goals as a midfielder. The team has some really good defenders, and depth at that position. Nation captain Makoun is retiring this summer, this is a very nice ending to his career.

Highest average rating of the tournament:

I have quit Cameroon now. I don't see them winning the WC without a crazy amount of luck so I leave Cameroon on a high note.
