4-3- great performance going forward but a bit sloppy at the back. Great to see Ronaldo looking more like his usual self, but i have to say i'm a bit concerned about the 3 goals conceded ahead of a trip to Celtic Park. We really don't want to lose that as otherwise Villareal will gain an advantage over us and Celtic have a route back into the knock-out phase. Anyway, some favourable results today- Stoke beat Arsenal and Tottenham beat Liverpool. I guess Spurs winning benefits Chelsea more but i really don't want Liverpool to win the title.

Help?

I don't think the 3 goals were that bad at all. The first one should have been dealt with, the second one was some superb work by Mendy, as he managed to keep that ball away from Evra and lob it over like 7 feet tall VDS and still put it right on net. The penalty was just unfortunate for Ferdinand and again Mendy showed some superb determination there. Hull isn't a pushover team and the rest of the EPL will tell you that. Only Chelsea managed to pick them apart right and proper, but Chelsea is really flying high right now, they might trip and stumble here and there, but with their determination this season it will be really hard to get them to go for more than a game without a win.

The difference between Chelsea and ourselves is that Chelsea make sure they finish the job once they're ahead. United have developed a worrying habit of easing off in the last 20 minutes of matches - We should have buried Hull yesterday, and West Ham before that (and Everton)

We are playing very well, but we need to maintain it for the 90+ minutes or we'll get caught out. Not surprised Liverpool were offed by Spurs - I always felt Liverpool would drop the ball at some point, that's why I didn't consider them a long term title threat.

Spurs under Harry look a different team. Liverpool were beginning to believe their own publicity and it was a matter of time until the invincibility bubble burst.

Good interview with Nani on MUTV on Thursday, he said he thinks this will be his breakout season. Speaks good English too - which he said has helped.

Chelsea have amazingly-fit specimen in their squad, how many goals have we scored in the last 10-15 minute of matches? Really, if a match is back and forth and physically straining, few teams can handle it like Chelsea do. And if we don't need a late goal, most of the time we can ride the storm equally well.

What I've seen Utd. do is storm in for the first 20 min, and then lower the pace, have the match like they want it, and then you get tired in the last minutes if it doesn't go splendidly, and sometimes if it does too. It's an interesting contrast, and you could see it in our last few encounters, Utd. score first, Chelsea second, and it's one hell of a match.

Umm,its been a while since we scored 10-15 last minutes goals in the league this season. We usually wrap up things by the 70th minute. I think that pretty much states the direction we're going thru Scolari.

I think against Hull, Utd were just caught out with Hull's change of tactic, Mendy caused a lot of problems when he came on.

I definitely think Tevez deserves his place back in the starting 11. From a neutral's point of view, Utd's attack last season were devastating and had the cutting edge. I think Berba offers something different and good as well but not as good as what Tevez brings to Utd, judging from last season.

its a great having a goal from C. ronaldo in a 3 minute mark..
but if they continue to do that sloppy def. they are in big trouble...
im a bit nervous when the other opponent making their counter attacks.. i know something will happen and it did..

they should have scored 10-11 goals according to the boss..

Hopefully we can get a result next weekend against Arsenal. Adebayor, Van Persie, Walcott, Sagna and Gallas are currently injured or suspended, so hopefully they don't return and we can win. At least after this game we've played all our away games against the other 3 big clubs.

I think Fletcher should start against Celtic and Carrick should be saved for the weekend, seeing as he's only just back. Perhaps Park could be involved as well. We don't want to lose this game, but winning at Arsenal would be great.

doesnt matter if adebayor van persie walcot etc are all fit to play or not. We have the capacity to compete with their first choice 11.

Both Neville and brown have not travelled to scotland which means rafael might be thrown into arguably the tougest game for him personally as of yet. I have a feeling Oshea will start though.

I agree with that, but if they're missing players it will make the game that much easier. Adebayor's out for 3 weeks and Van Persie's suspended, i think Sagna is playing tonight so he'll probably be back. It'll still be a test though because they're at home.

Yeah i think O'Shea should start, Evra's back on the left so it makes sense to do that. I don't know if Evans can play RB but he's another option. Rafael's good going forward so maybe he could be a sub for the 2nd half.

Hopefully the ref and linesmen are decent. I can't believe the penalty that was given last night. I was happy to see Liverpool on the brink of defeat, and then Gerrard dives over the LB who doesn't actually make a challenge and that's somehow a penalty. Real Madrid and Juventus could also be a good game tonight.

Halftime losing 1-0. I dreaded an early goal by celtic thats exactly what happened. You know they r gonna sit back and frustrate the hell out of you.

United playing well but just lacking that quality in the final 3rd. Andy gray is pissing me off. Hes praising celtic like they have the points in the bag already. celtic have been non-existent as an attacking force since they scored the goal. I just dont wanna lose again @ celtic. sux big time.

1-1 FT. Should have won but i m freakin proud of our team. I dont think i have ever seen any team batter celtic like that for 45 mins on their turf. they were playing a 9-0-1 formation. Should have dumped them out of the CL for playin like that.

It could have been worse.
In the end we got our reward and deserved to win that game. An awful miss by Berbatov at the death.
I do think a game like that was ideal preparation before an Arsenal game though.

Rafael was really impressive last night. What he lacks in the air, he makes up for with winning tackles and great balls in the box. It felt like we had an extra winger. Give him a few more years in the first team and he'll be highly regarded throughout Europe.

Tevez really needs to find his form, he's been forcing shots and hasn't meshed well with berba. His work rate though will always be something to rave about. I wouldn't want to see him any kit other than united's.

Similar to Utd vs Barca at the Nou Camp last season. :D

You think Tyler and Gray are bad - wait till you hear them on the Arsenal United game on Saturday!

I couldn't believe the amount of attacks we wasted last night, Celtic fought like their lives depended on it, first to every ball - flinging themselves at shots etc. I honestly felt like we could have played all night and still not scored - until Ryan came to the rescue of course!

I almost felt sorry that their effort was for naught - almost :innocent_smile_1:

Still, Tyler and Gray are one of the best commentators you'll get these days, pity they don't like Utd as much as you lot do, huh? :browsmiley:
