Agent claims Roy will stay
by Adam Marshall - created on 24 May 2005

Manchester United could spring a surprise by signing Roy Carroll to a three-year contract.

Negotiations had stalled with the Northern Ireland international and it was expected that he would leave under the Bosman Ruling in the summer.

With Tim Howard already penning fresh terms and Sir Alex Ferguson likely to bring a new goalkeeper into the club, as has been previously confirmed by chief executive David Gill, any decision to retain Carroll would seem a little puzzling.

"Roy has received certain assurances and David Gill said he would get back to us after the FA Cup final, so we're expecting to sort this out before Roy goes on holiday at the end of the week," agent Francis Martin told The Daily Express.

"We just need to clear up the finer points."

Ferguson has rotated Howard and Carroll this term, appearing to grow impatient with both keepers, but is being tipped to pin his faith in the pair ahead of a crucial season for United.

After a trophyless campaign, The Red Devils have already stressed the need to mount a serious challenge for the title.

Either he must win the TV rights or sell his amateur rugby team to repay the huge debts quickly.

There were rumours that he might have to sell the Tampa Bay NFL team to finance the debt. Also the NFL is meeting during its annual spring meetings sometime soon (maybe this week, I' m not too sure) in Washington, D.C. to discuss whether or not Glazer can still own the NFL team...there is a very slight chance that he will be forced to sell the NFL club.

Rossi Backed To Make First-Team Breakthrough

Teenage forward Giuseppe Rossi is being tipped to make inroads into United's first team next season after an exciting debut year with the club.

The 18-year-old striker's 17 goals for Ricky Sbragia's young Reserve side helped United win four trophies, an impressive campaign that, in turn, earned the Italian the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award.

is there still a chance for him not to own manu?

I highly doubt he would give up on United...if he has to, he would sell his NFL team. He has already won the big prize (Superbowl) with them so there isn' t any reason to keep them over United. But that is a big if.

I think that naming rights to the stadium must be something he has in mind and there is also the less likely TV deal.

Man U was the richest club before this Douchebag arrived. Where are the football hooligans when you need them? Glazer needs a beat down!
