... now compare with tevez leaving

I really don't see what the problem is. I'd want Rooney and Eto'o as the regular starters, and then rotate Owen and Berbs in as needed. We didn't spend any money on Owen, so it's not like we are wasting money by letting him sit on the bench...and as for Berbs...the hell with him, he was the biggest waste of money United have spent in as long as I can remember, and he should've been sold this summer anyway.
WE NEED GOAL SCORERS and that is exactly what Eto'o is. We spent what, 16 million on Valencia? So there should be over 60 million left from the Ronaldo sale, plenty to get Eto'o plus another winger.
Why else did we agree to sell Ronaldo, if not to use the massive bank he fetched us to bring in new players to help us win?

Eto'o is one of the best strikers and pure goalscorers in the world, we would be out of our minds insane to not want him in the team.
Rooney is a hero but let's be honest, he can't do it all by himself. Berbs is worthless, Owen might be a good backup but we can't count on him, neither Welbeck or Machida are ready to be everyday players in the Premiership. IMO we are still in desperate need of a proven striker. If Eto'o actually really wants to come to United, we need to roll out the red carpet for him.
I would feel REALLY good about the coming season with Eto'o as the front striker and Rooney playing slightly behind him.
Seriously, how could any United fan NOT want this to happen? Eto'o is such a talented an explosive player, it's exactly what we need.
Nady;2697175 said:Yeah, and he's yet another United player Keano has bought in his managerial career...
Eto'o would be a brilliant signing, but to be honest I'm not keen on him at all. Firstly he's 28. I prefer we spend on younger players. Second, he will cost a lot for sure. Third, he's got an attitude problem. Ask Barca fans. He's very money minded **** as well. We don't need players like him in our team.
Btw, that Obertan guy looks like a good prospect. He has got good technical skills and intelligence in his plays. Bordeaux are only claiming that we are favourites to sign him though, so nothing is confirmed yet.

macheda and wellback have amssive potential and should be given their chances.
with 4 forwards, i bet macheda and wellback have slim chances and will have to go out on loan or maybe become more of the fringe types...
