Anyone know where I can find a thin sweater like this

That isn't gayly expensive?

Yeah, but not a t-shirt. Definitely want a knit. Base color white, stripe color navy. And I want the stripes to go all the way up too. Thin enough to wear in the summer. Technical term for the pattern is nautical stripe, but this hasn't really helped my searching. I see they have it as a sweater too, but it's almost 50% polyester, which I'm not big on at all.

Anyone know where I could get a solid color denim Carlos*et? Traditional denim and traditional cut but in solid color (royal blue). Tried eBay and Google but, probably because of my **** english, I haven't found anything yet.

Hey guys, little wedding advice if you may.

My friend is getting married September 8th, one week after labor day although still technically summer. I've been wondering what to wear to the wedding, but have decided to keep it relatively simple with essentially the outfit that James Marsden (on the left) is wearing in the picture

Thoughts? I think the Gingham at least hints at summer a little even if it's technically after labor day. The burgundy tie makes a nice contrast and should amplify the oxblood cordovan derbies I will be wearing. I'm having a tough time finding a dress shirt in a darker (not navy, but I might just do that) blue gingham with a medium size, not overly big, but not micro; basically just like the picture. The other question I have is whether I should go for a traditional tie or a skinnier knit tie.

Not really an expert when it comes to suits. Your idea sounds good, and all the little details are more personal preferences. Skinny knit tie is more casual than a traditional tie. Gingham obviously also makes it a bit more casual, so the most formal tie might look a bit out of place.

I like the colorway you're going with.

There's been some talk about shirts in the past, and I'll start a bit of a new topic now. I've expressed frustration about how I have completely stopped getting any shirt in an S-M-L size because they never fit well. I still think the classic neck size + sleeve length slim fit is good, particularly because you'll find sales a lot easier than what I'm about to mention, but for good dress shirts I think the online made-to-measure sites are all I'll use if I pay full price.

www.moderntailor.com

Basically they have tons of fabric, take your measurements online, make the shirts in China, and ship them out to arrive in like 2 weeks or less. Amazing. And not only that, but they'll send you a $19.99 perfectly tailored "trial shirt" with the sizing guaranteed to make sure you're satisfied before ordering more stuff.

Now, in the same vein, I want to talk about suits. It was only 5 years ago when my mother took me to the Men's Warehouse to get my first 2 suits. A light grey and a dark navy blue. Neither has lasted these 5 years and the sizing is just plain wrong; the pants have pleats! The two suits, 3 dress shirts, and 3 ties ran my mother about $1000. What a deal!

Let me introduce you to Indochino

www.indochino.com

Depending on the suit and when you buy, you can get high quality suits for $300-450, maybe less if it's on sale. Tailored to your measurements and shipped free. NEVER EVER EVER go to the Men's Warehouse or Jos A. Bank.

And finally on this dressy stuff, in my opinion the most clutch site of them all is

www.thetiebar.com

Any tie--knit, silk, etc--in any style for $15. Ties are the biggest rip off of them all.

I bought these shoes 2 years ago:

I don't know what I was thinking when I bought them. They are too loud for me.

If you notice that you are starting to lose hair in your mid-late 20s, then buying these shoes will NOT help you feel younger.

They don't seem particularly loud to me, just something that is jogging exclusive; not street shoes.

I have 2 summer weddings next year, and I imagine for the rest of my life this will be an occurrence. Thinking about this suit, made out of 100% cotton oxford cloth

I don't like anything else on this model. I'd probably wear it with a white shirt with some blue checks, like a grid or tattersal pattern. Thin navy knit tie, and suede wingtips. I need to buy every article of clothing, but I think a cornflower blue suit is the way to go. Love these sand suede shoes, for example

I like it.

I'd imagine you start to feel old when all your friends start getting married.

Certainly do.

I like it Shifty. I've got two good black suits, pin stripe and plain. Then I've also got full white tie for any proper final balls etc I go to. But would like good summer blazer at the least - if not a summer suit.

I have none of those things. I have a traditional navy suit, a really nice subtle brown glen plaid suit (that I can never find a place to actually wear it to), and some lower quality suits, but particularly a grey one. And several assorted Carlos*ets that fit to varying degrees. I actually don't care at all for stripes on suits and I don't know how I got the aversion.

The white tie sounds cool as hell. I would LOVE to rock this

Technically black tie I believe. But I guess you're not really allowed to wear a white dinner Carlos*et in my climate, arguably even in the summer. Also I don't attend any events where it would be appropriate, which is sad because Connery is in a dingy bar in this scene.
