got to disagree with you there TA. I thought Carrick did his job yesterday but nothing more however sadly. We needed someone to take the game by the scruff of the neck, which is what Rooney was trying too hard to do, and Gerrard also tried to do.

Lampard's once again inept show was the true disgrace leaving. We needed someone like Carrick to step up and compensate, which wouldnt be his job normaly, but someone like Hargreaves, or Maybe even Parker would have done. Lamps should never have been allowed back on the pitch for the 2nd half.

carrick is developing into the permanent role of dm right now, so give him a break, but still his passing was sensational.

Carrick's passing is obviously the strongest part of his game. Thing is Gerrard and Lampard are even better passes of the ball. So what exactly does Carrick bring to the team?

He will never be a good DM because he doesn't get stuck in. We missed Hargreaves something badly on Saturday. Carrick might be the better footballer per se but Hargreaves is the better defensive mid-fielder by a country mile and fits into the England team better than Carrick.

Not many players with the strength and size of Vieira go down as easy as he does. He is a pussy of the highest order. He tries to intimidate people on other teams, then backs down when someone stands up to him. He is scum.

Great midfielder mind, one of the best.

BTW, Roy Keane never dived. Scott Parker. Claude Makelele. Papa Bouba Diop. All tough tacklers in a similar position who don't dive. i really could go on for days. Someone that big and that powerful should not go down like a sack of spuds.

Nothin else can be said on that. Even the toughest of players do it, its not right but oh well. Vieira is the better player despite any of this
