But there's a difference, while Lyon is asking an extraordinary absurd amount of money, we just ask 10 M for Miguel, when we rejected an offer of 7 M for Fiorentina he get pissed...

ESSIEN DENIES STRIKE THREAT

Essien can't go around breaking a contract unless the club and him reach a mutual agreement. Lyon can sue his ******* ass, take disciplinary action, whatever and still have him under contract. They wouldn't have done anything unlawful their employees.

Lets see what three years in the reserves can do to someone's career.

Lyon are c*nts, I hope all the bad things in life happen to them, and only them and nobody else.
Thing is Rob, Lyon didn't want to sell him in the first place but it looks like they don't have much of a choice now. FIFA must take action against him if such threats are carried out.

By the way, anyone who believes Essien is a **** for doing this, you can NEVER quit a job in your life. We've all quit jobs, often to the chagrin of our bosses, but that's life. We don't have to work for a company we hate or work a job we don't like, neither should soccer players.
Sport is different. These players get paid a kings ransom to kick a leather ball around on grass every week. They get more in a week than what the average person can earn in a year. I'd expect these so-called "sports" men to show a bit of loyalty rather than chucking their toys out of the pram, they just don't realise how lucky they are compared to most people in the world.

If Essien plays for Lyon again I think he'll do an Ince and just stand there in the center circle and watch. (H)

sport laws are different too. You can't quit a club because you want to.

This is such an utterly bizarre story. I wish FSC was carrying the next Lyon match so I could see how Essien plays and how his teammates react (I don't see a lot of passes going to him).

He's now denying he said any of this which doesn't surprise me, but the idea that somebody made all of those quotes up out of whole cloth seems far-fetched.

But frankly I'm absolutely disgusted with the Chelsea fans who defended the strike threat. Surely even you can see that if players were allowed to do this it would ruin football. Contracts would become useless; Chelsea or Madrid or Man U would just have to say "Yes, we are interested in Player X" then Player X goes on strike until his club sells him for a bargain basement price. If Essien actually carries through on this the only fair punishment would be a lifetime ban from football and a fine of £20 million paid to Lyon, his fair market value.

Wtf?? Who the f*ck does this ugly piece of sh!t think he is? He's no f*ckin Roy Keane, he's no f*ckin Patrick Vieira!! Oh at first it's his 'dream' to play for Manchester United, he had Cantona posters and wanked off to Cantona videos...now Chelsea is the only club for him? Eat sh!t and die Essien, you disgracefull pig.

And to all you fools defending him....what? How do you defend something like that? He's being a complete and utter tit! He's talking about ohhhhhhh he's so unhappy, oh boohooo he feels so hard done by...wtf? He's been winning titles for 4 years straight living the high life, then all of a sudden the English KGB show up and now he's unhappy and being mistreated? What an asshole, if that's how he behaves I dont want his ass at this club, go to Chelsinski for all we care, maybe when they pull a Blackburn he'll 'dream' of leaving them too?

At first Robben can't wait to sign for us, his father says that he'll join Chelsea over his dead body...then where does he end up?

Jon Obi Mikel expresses his delight at signing for us, with Fergie planning a party for him and everything...Chelsea show up...WHAM!! Now he hates United and loves Chelsea.. See a pattern here?

F*ck you Chelsea, thanks for f*cking up everything for everyone else. :hit: :taz:

Honestly other than a few good performances in the CL, I don't think he's worth getting. There are much better players out there than him, but really it's not the money for him. Lyon are all about the money, they want the most that Chelsea can fork over. I blame chelsea the most for offering so much to basically anybody. It's a joke. Essien is just stuck in between all this and he really wants is a move to Chelsea. I think he is smart, but cause it's just getting silly, lyon want to much for what he's worth and Chelsea just don't want to hand it over since they know Essien wants the move so Chelsea thinks they can bargain for less. Basically one is waiting for the other to give in to their demands. Chelsea are such dumbasses, they deserve this mess.

Then he shouldn't have signed a contract in the first place.

Im sure when Essien was singing his contract and starting to play for Lyon it came to him that maybe one day he would have a good season where the big clubs would be interested in him and he would want to move to a better team/league....:| I dont think that was on his mind at that time.
