Essien Threatens Strike

One of the strangest transfer saga's i've seen just got weirder... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=338325&cc=5901

Minutes after saying that Michael Essien would remain a Lyon player, club president Jean-Michel Aulas has had another change of heart after being contacted directly by Chelsea. Aulas told reporters after his side's 1-0 win over Strasbourg that Essien would remain a Lyon player and fired a verbal broadside at the London club's tactics. However, a subsequent phone call from Chelsea appears to have reopened the possibility that the 22-year-old Ghanaian could move to London after all.

Huh? Chelsea's "fortune's" with their transfer targets/employers suddenly changing their minds has seemingly happened again.

Abramovich enters the Essien saga

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich appears to have kept the Blues' pursuit of Michael Essien alive - by suggesting a personal meeting with Lyon's president....

:eek:
This is getting stranger and stranger. Still, if you want suggestions, and you dont ask questions....or if you want a long saga to be resolved, then Uncle Roman, he's your man. Apparrently its been he who has been keeping this whole thing afloat, but I really wish he would just quit. As its been mentioned, the team should be happy to have Tiago. Between him, Eidur and Cole, that will be enough cover. Holy fu<k im sounding like a broken record with this talk.

He runs Chelsea just on the interest he makes a year.

...

And still makes a profit from interest
The number that I had heard was 250,000 pounds per day off intrest alone. Thats another million every 4 days for just leaving his money sitting in banks. But the bit about him giving money away isnt too far off: supposedly, if he meets you and likes you and you get invited to his suite at the Bridge, youre given a voucher to simply get whatever you want from the megastore, and he signs the cheque for it. Now thats generosity :)

Lets take a look at Jose's buys shall we:

Didier Dogbreath= :sb9:
Jarosik= :sb9:
Kezman= :sb9:
Carvalho=good, but who wouldn't look good with John Terry next to them?
Ferreira=average

Face it, he inherited the nucleus of the Championship winning squad, Robben, Cech, Lampard, Terry, Gallas, Makelele...it was all there before him. In other words, he's been buying crap.
Yes, and now look how many mistakes Ranieri had before him. Mutu was a disaster for Chelsea, Geremi turned out to be a bust, Veron was injured all the time. Kezman was a mistake that anyone could have (and other teams were about to before Chelsea got him) made, Jarosik was bought to be a tall midfielder, not a world beater, and Drogba was really expensive. Outside of that, you cant say a thing.

Ferreria=consistantly above average (I would take him over Gary Neville or any other Premiership RB)
and Carvalho=world class, no matter who he has beside him

Aulas' family is probably minutes away from concrete shoes unless the deal is concluded.
Please please, Roman isnt a butcher: it would just be Aulas ;) But seriously, if a dubious Russian billionaire with some dodgy friends came to me to "settle" a transfer saga, I would insist upon meeting in a public place, and even then, i'd still have to wear depends cause id be :sb9:ing myself
