Burnley have been surprisingly good, but haven't really threatened. Meanwhile, we've barely given it a go, and I think we'll start the 2nd half strong and kill them off.
EDIT: Alex completely at fault for that goal, he should've dealt with Feltcher much better. I know not every match is going to be easy, and tat Turf Moor is a difficult ground, but we still should've done much better than that. It could only be Terry for that goal, honestly. He literally shut up Turf Moor, I don't care if he's killed the pope, the man is a legend on the field.
Anelka was very good today, but I felt the midfield was beneath the level we're used to. No one was really good, I'm still waiting for Zhirkov to show us why we brought him in. Surely he's got more in him than just being the adequate cover for Cole, who I hope didn't get seriously hurt there. Something similar happened to me once and I fractured my foot, couldn't play for 2 months. I'm undecided about Sturridge. He's got the talent, but he's too keen on taking players on and he's getting bullied out there. Considering the fact that most of our players would rather pass back then take someone on, I'm not sure if that's such a bad thing, and I think he could be a great player for us, but he needs to mature. Didn't get why Carlo stucked him on the right, I guess he'd rather play Turnbull on the right rather than move Anelka from the forward position. I understand that, since Anelka's been tremendous so far, but he's more suited for the right winger position than Sturridge. At least play Sturridge on the left. I suppose it's logical to play him on the right so he could cut back and shoot with the left, but he's just not good enough to do that successfully yet. Would've made more sense to stick Malouda there.
Anyway, we got the points we needed, now let's sit back and enjoy as one of our rivals stumbles, and destroy Hull on Tuesday with Drogba and Kalou back.
