Carlo has said he is confident that Ashley will be back for Chelsea before the season ends. Perhaps the last couple of games, and the FA Cup final and the CL final IF we manage to get that far. Ashley's a very fit guy and seems to heal quickly and well. Bloody shame though.
We have plenty of cover for that position luckily enough. Zhirkov came to us as cover for Ash, so now he has his chance to really settle in. I think he'll do well from what we've seen of him. He deserves his chance.
Good game today at the Bridge. We're through to the next round of the FA Cup, after beating Cardiff 4-1. Drog played a great game again, and it was nice to get a goal so early in the game from him. Nicely taken goals by Ballack, Sturridge and Kalou .
Cardiff were not the walkover that the score suggests though. They fought hard and played some clever footie too. The difference really was the fact that we managed to step it up a notch or two in the second half. We needed to TBH. Cardiff hit us with a couple of break - away's, but they didn't have a lot more to give.
Hilario made some important and very good saves throughout the game, and it's thanks to him really that Cardiff only managed to score one goal today.
We did have a shuffled around defence today with Ash and JT missing, and although there were the expected moments of confuson at the back, the guys did well enough.

Yeah, the constant rotation in the defensive area have been unsettling for us.
Alex seems to play better with JT than with Carvalho, same case with Carvalho.
Ferreira did well at right-back, its good he's still at the club, because we all know he could play at left-back as well, as he's done with the Portuguese NT.
Hopefully JT has settled things outside of footie, crucial matches coming up, I'm excited to see us playing Jose again. If we can nick a couple of away goals it would much easier for us at the Bridge.
Since we all know how Italians like to play, defensive and then counter-attack on the break. Carlo will be wary of that.
Inter are a solid unit but I think we've got enough in us to get a good result at the San Siro.

Everton have just been kind enough to give back to us the 3 points they won off us 10 days ago. They just beat United 3-1. 
We need to beat Wolves today and we will be 4 points clear of United. a bit of breathing space would be nice.

With all the furore about Rooney being the best striker in the world(which is deserved given the way he's performing) but personally, I'll be happy if it keeps that way, and Drog quietly goes on about his business, which is scoring goals and performing for us.
What a monster of a player, who knows how much goals he would've scored if he didn't participate in the African Cup of Nations.
Creates chances/goals out of the nothing, great control and decisiveness for the 2nd goal. First goal was absolute peach, brilliant one-two between Ballack and Zhirkov and Didier at the end of things at usual.
Can't wait to see him pile some more of that on Jose's Inter.

I personally can't wait for this game ... José knows Chelsea from the inside, though the team has changed in some key areas since he left; Ancelotti knows José as an opponent, but Inter have added some new dimensions to their team since Ancelotti last had to prepare for a match against them ... don't know if it will be a glamourous tie on the pitch, but it will be a terrific tactical battle between the managers ... really looking forward to it!Zakov;2823242 said:Inter in the CL up next.

Wow, now we're gonna probably miss Mourinho, and all because of that damn ref in the game against Sampdoria... Seriously, if Chelsea wins now, it won't be of skill, that's for sure
no zhirkov? is that confirmed? coz that leaves the left-back spot weak for exploitation ... ferreira is not registered, so of course he cannot play; and ashley cole everyone knows about ...Mandieta6;2824963 said:
