Well, we've got Birmingham coming up later. Lets hope for our sake, Joe Hart has an off day and commits a howler or two. He's been super solid for City, add their solid midfield and defense, we've got ourselves a tough match. For some reason we've always had problems against City, but I reckon at the Bridge, we've got enough in us to put them away.
Having said that, game comes too soon for Drogba and Kalou, so it'll likely be Anelka up front supported by Joey Cole and Malouda. Carvalho should come in for Alex, although either one is fine by me. Lamps is fit to play but we lose Bella for a few weeks. Bad news about Essien, but hopefully we won't miss him too much.
Deco should continue in the holding position. He should toughen up his play tonight, since Birmingham's midfield are frequent pressers when they don't have the ball and will be looking to unsettle Deco in midfield.
C'mon u Blues!!
I agree about Ivanovic, he's really proved himself as an automatic starter this season. I always thought he would have problems at right-back particularly after being outplayed by Nani in the Charity Shield, but he improved when given the chance.
But I have to say, Bosingwa absence can be evident at times, although Iva can be deceptively quick for his stature, Bosingwa can bring us something extra in the final third with the ability to beat players as well as his crossing ability.
Iva is the more balanced full-back, but Bosingwa will trouble more opposition defenses(despite not being as good defensively) than Iva.
