deco was impressive although he played only the first half...he was given a deep role by ancelloti and played some good defence splitting passes

It was a decent start to the preseason, but it will take longer for the players to really get used to this new formation. They were caught off-guard too many times and Seattle's counters were far too dangerous. I only watched a few minutes from the first half and most of the 2nd, in which we played this formation:

Hilario
Belletti - Ivanovic - Carvalho - Hutchinson
Mikel
Sinclair - Lampard
Shevchenko
Pizarro - Di Santo

Hutchinson barely touched the ball, the others defenders did well. Hilario was very poor, I mean very poor. I expect Turnbull to take over as Cech's understudy as soon as the next game. Sinclair had a moment of brilliance but other than that I didn't notice him much. He needs to bulk up because he was getting knocked off the ball a lot. Sheva, Pizarro and Santo were a surprising choice. Don't recall them being very poor or good, but it was nice to see that Ancelotti is giving everyone a try.

Sturridge was involved in both goals but has said that he could do a lot better and that's nice to hear. Determination in a young player is key.

Was great to see Jose among the Chelsea players.

2-0 against Inter. Drogba and a Lampard penalty. Look like Terry enjoyed it when Will Ferrel did the coin toss.

To the match, Drogba scored a very nice goal which the GK should've saved. We dominated the 1st half. 2nd half Inter came out strong, on comes Zlatan and Milito who threatened only one throughout the match. Lamps and Burdisso got into an altercation. Deco also played very well..Sturridge played great and had some great moves, his cross hit Cordoba's arm which resulted in the second goal. Also, Di Santo came on for about 5 minutes and had one great chance.

One thing about Di Santo is that he is moving better off and on the ball than during last season. He had some great runs against Seattle where he should have scored

Turnbull played for less than 20 mins and saved a freekick from Ibra. Game was quite unremarkable everyone just wanted to see Ibrahimovic. You had won the game by the first 20 minutes, making it look like a training game. Mikel stomped Viera by accident, Mancienne at one point did not seem to be able to cope with Balotelli's physical presence, but I fell asleep somewhere in the game so I did not see more of him. Lampard was probably your best player and Ancelotti seems to be continuing where Hiddink left off. There where a shet load of celebs at your game all supporting you???

Btw Zhirkov still has no work permit.

Frank Nouble has signed for West Ham on a free and Mikel has signed a new contract which runs until 2014.

This Chelsea looks very promising if they can find a good consistency during competitions as well as little injury vows.

The players we have gotten during the off-season has added more depth we've been missing since 06. During that time, Manyoo have acquired some players and depth, which is why they've been dominant.

Also, we missed Joey Cole during the second half of last season, and also Essien who basically watched the Scolari debacle from the sidelines.

EDIT: Charlize Theron is pretty hot for a 33-year old.

Bollocks. Belletti and Hilario both our oldest players we have in our squad at 33 years of age.

FYI, the average age for our squad is 26-27 years old, so if u want to be cheeky please make sure you're right about it.

Don't give a toss about celebrities whether they support us or not.

C'mon man, I just made a little joke. why you took it so seriously? I was going to tell she fits in your age group as well ...:innocent_smile_1:

we shouldn't talk seriously all the times.

check my older posts in this thread. I actually said the average age of United and Chelsea is almost same but ...

Well next time do a better job. ;)

Banter is all acceptable but they have to be relevant towards the fact.
33 and 27 are not close. If our squad's age was 32-34, the joke would've made more sense.

Drgoba has just scored a screamer to put us ahead 6 minutes in. Milan aren't closing us at all.

Cech
Bosingwa-Ivanovic-Terry-Cole
Mikel
Belletti-Zhirkov
Lamps
Drogs-Anelka

I'll update later, we seem fine, nothing to note. Zhirkov is moving around a lot, he doesn't stick to the flank, dunno if that's good or bad yet. Drogba too, he's coming down and moving to the flanks often. Hm..

EDIT:

Seedorf equalised with an Iniesta-like goal at 36 or something like that. Lamps has been quite absent. Belletti started strong and then became quite invisible. Bosingwa is a machine, he's our best man on the field. Terry and Ivanovic haven't had to do that much because Milan build their attacks really slow. Cech made a fantastic save and couldn't stop the goal. Looks confident, that's good. Anelka isn't very sharp, I really thinks he needs a goal. Drogs is very dangerous again, and that's always good to see. Mikel is, IMO, the 2nd best on the field. He's a fantastic DM. Cole and Zhirkov are doing ok, the new guy has been dangerous and showing his class sparingly, but he's not forcing himself on the ball or dwelling on it, he hasn't made a mistake yet, and that's really good.

We're the better team, we're more dangerous and we're defending very well. Milan have woken up finally, but I still think we'll get the win. Pato is a dangerous kid but he hasn't had much chances, no-one has, even Ronaldinho has been stiffled. I only knew Pirlo was on the field because the commentator told me he was. He forced a save from Cech in a set-piece, but other than that, he's a ghost. We're playing well as a unit, a few too many mistakes and bad passes, but nothing to really complain about.

RE-Edit: Milan the better side for a while there, playing with more flair. Made a bunch of changes, only Sheva on for Anelka, and he's way too eager. A good chance now from him though which ends with Zhirkov scoring on his debut. Unbelievable.

Just finished watching the game. Decent outing for Zhirkov I must say. Nice finish off the rebound. Sheva looked sharp after coming on.

Great workout for the lads, although I'm suprised the back four wasn't changed in the match.(apart from Hutchinson in the end)

So far 3 out of 3 for Carlo. Not bad at all.
