It could have been longer Zakov, so thanks for small mercies I guess. If Frank can be back sooner he will be. You know what he's like.
Drog has been X-Rayed and he has a broken rib. Another player out for 3 weeks.
JT's ankle injury looks like it's clearing up, and he should be playing for England tomorrow.
Hilario has been called up for the Portugal squad. Henrique deserves his chance. He's a good, safe keeper, and has been fantastic for us.
Oh yeah, and I had Paella tonight.

Yeah he deserves it man. The guy has worked so hard and has been so patient, and now his rep is growing all the time it seems. By the time he returns to Chelsea he should be up for a first team place. He plays well on the right and with him, I don't think we need to buy anyone to fill that position. Yeah he's looking good and improving all the time.
Latest news is that Ashley Cole completed a full training session today and will be back for the Wolves game. Excellent news. Drog and Ballack have still not been ruled out yet either even though they are both carrying injuries.
Looks like Frank will be out after all. He'll miss the Wolves match but will return after that.

MOTM Essien, enough said. Joe Cole, Ash Cole, Mikel and Anelka all had decent games.
We managed to see a glimpse of things to come, as far as Ancelotti's policy with our youth players go. Kakuta looked electric when he came on, full of confidence and full of tricks, I'm expecting to see more of him in the coming games.
I was also impressed with Matic, we already know what a good prospect Borini is.
But Matic slotted in effortlessly, and for a big man he has very good close control.
Oh yeah, and Arsenal lost.

He had an amazing game. Put himself into the game in the absence of Lamps, Deco and Ballack. He was incredible.
I could only catch the first half after streams in the 2nd half failed me. I got a glimpse of Kakuta, and he is definitely one for the future, our best youngster. I didnt see Matic or Borini play but we were cruising when they came on.

Out of our three youngsters, definitely Kakuta stood out.
Kakuta:
Kakuta's performance reminded me of Robben's debut for us against Blackburn.
He was mesmerizing, looked very sharp and popped up in various positions on the field to support other players showing good positional sense. I don't remember it exactly but minutes after he came on he was already on a goal-scoring opportunity with his first and second touches where he beat marker and sent his shot wide off the side-netting. His flick on the left-hand side towards Malouda was out of this world. Seemed to have good shooting range as well with a rasping shoot from 35 yards that just missed.
Borini:
Looked comfortable after slotting in for Kalou. Showed good ball control and acceleration, and was fouled a few times by the opposing defender after being sent clear with his pace.
Matic:
He slotted in for Malouda playing a centre holding midfield position. Looked very solid and comfortable on the ball. He fit in with our system showing good close control of the ball despite his large frame. Played some neat one touch passes to the players around him, definitely see him fighting for a place of Mikel/Essien's DM role during the coming ACN.

You've played a good football against Wolfes mates.... Even thou i'm not a Chelsea fan, i must say that i haven't seen such a powerful team since that Leverkusen 2002 team.The passes going so amazing.Nice to watch...

What a boring match so far. We have possession, but the players look half-asleep. Even the ones who are doing good are barely applying themselves. Porto have had the better chances, with a crossbar and Cech having to make two consecutive parries. Come on Chelsea, do something.
Mikel, Ivanovic and Anelka are at least somewhat trying. Defensively, the first two have been great, and in attack, Anelka is the only one doing anything. Drogba is waiting for the balls to come to him and he's not making much of them. Deco lights up whenever the ball is near him and doesn't do anything productive. Zhirkov is a bit over-cautious. Right now I'd like t see all the attacks go down the left because Zhirkov at least has a reason to apply himself, and Anelka and Malouda have been decent.
I want better.

EDIT: Essien came on with a lot more drive than anyone else on the field, ran towards the area, then literally stpped and walked slowly until people caught up and Zhirkov teed off Malouda for a perfect cross so Anelka could poke it in. An uninspiring win, I hope it's worth it and we thrash Arse this weekend. Would be great if Borini and Kakuta scored a brace each and sink them.
