Positive message came from this and its that Chelsea wont be held to ransom.. gotta respect that . Sevilla ARE stupid, to have put a 40 million euro price tag on Alves just because Chelsea were interested. I bet Sevilla didnt expect us to drop the interest but look it here .. WE DID , now we have bought a quality RB, and for 5.5 million euros, its a steal for sure. Now lets just see Alves price drop, no club in the world will pay 36 million for him let alone 25 million euros. If they didnt want to sell, they should of said so. Sevilla are fools for not cashing in and they will regret it in the future.

The only reason Alves has such a high price tag is because of the current situation that sevilla are in. They are currently capable of challenging for the CL and La liga title. THey have also won 5 trophies in the span of two years when previously they had none. He is a key part of their team and if they lost him, I think other players would follow..

I prefer Diarra or Farera over Belleti but what the heck if we signed Ben Haim nothing surprises me anymore.

I would so much rather have Alves in my team than Robben. The work ethic, the all around game, the offensive upside and the durability all work in Alves' favour.

After seeing the evidence of Robben's attitude, it's a no-brainer for me.

Sagna that signed with Arsenal would have been a good signing. i think he is a very good player.. and his hair remind me of Ba

Well, i admit I am fan of Robben and i was really hoping he could stay with us for at least another season but well, the deal's done and i wish him all the best at Madrid(less physical in La Liga, so i think he'll do well).....its the same feeling when Duff left but hey, life goes on.....
now to change my sig!!!

i'm glad chelsea sold robben. he's a great player but only for a few months per season, chelsea doesn't need that kind of injury prone players
who do you guys think will be bought to replace him ?

Senior Squad
no one quite frankly....at least i think so, since we already got J Cole, Malouda, SWP(who's been in superb form), S. Sinclair and Glen Johnson who can play in Right Midfield as well.......so i think we've got enough cover there....

I don't really know why you signed Belletti. He isn't very good defensively so I can't figure out what the Translator wanted with this deal. The fee is peanuts for Chelsea, and I'm sure that for a few million more, you could have got a better RB, both offensively and defensively. You probably also have better options in your club as it is.

I also don't think this means Chelsea are giving up on Alves. They sold Robben for a huge fee, so with Belletti in the calculation, you made a profit of almost €31M. It's nothing for Chelsea to add an extra few million and sign Alves, especially since it's highly unlikely that Madrid will find another €40m for Alves after spending around €113M I think.

I think the door should be open for you now. And judging by the pictures I saw of Alves, he's very pissed off. That just might make del Nido a little easier to negotiate with.

I still think that Chelsea will sign Alves before the transfer window shuts next week. I remember last year the media was going on and on about whether Ashley Cole would sign and for how much. That transfer went through with seconds of the transfer window shutting, so I'm expecting the same to happen this time. I know Belletti is decent but I just don't see him being first choice.

S. Sinclair is young and will be selected ocasionally and Johnson is a terrible attacker
so i think you need another winger
although belletti might play in that position

Senior Squad
i admit Glen Johnson isn't a good defender but he is a decent attacking RB.....
btw, at Chelseafc.com, Jose claims that Belleti is the last of the summer signings but there could also be players going out of Chelsea......So D. Alves won't be coming to 'ere....

It's hard to see Robben go, he is one of my favourites, I wish him a lot of success at Real Madrid.
Maybe one of the reason why he left is the amount of injuries he had during his time here, because of the physical of the Premier League. So maybe in Spain he will not have that problem.

Senior Squad
maybe he could come back in the future...who knows..i remember Le Saux coming back after a couple of seasons at Blackburn, but don't bank on it.....:D
Does anyone know how long will Sheva be out? Its like he's non-existent at the moment, is he out long-term or something?

we beat Portsmouth and still wonderin why Alex isnt startin over Ben Haim, yea Ben Haim is quality but Alex is in a different league. Also I believe Sheva is fit and he just needs to retain match fitness.

Senior Squad
its been bothering me too.....Ben Haim's a decent defender but we've seen him outmuscled(by Kanu) and out of position a few times against Pompey and Liverpool....Alex should get a chance in upcoming games to prove his worth, and im confident he'll keep his place above Ben Haim once he starts....at least until Riccy's back....
