This is very true. Stability is important. Our present cannot match our past...hopefully we can be great soon. And as is more often the case than not, we come back to greatness. I think regardless of present situations, when a player is offered to play for us, it's hard to turn down. We're still always fighting for trophies...it's not like we are never in the quarter or semifinals of every tournament.
Wow! Dealing w/ you guys is like pulling teeth. Don't you guys wanna have asettled squad already? I hope we can each get our player soon in order to move on. I know Sevilla are also playing hardball
Oh man, without a doubt Real Madrid are still and always will be almost impossible for a player to turn down if interest is shown. I still think that for a player, it's still a mark of achievement to say " I played for Real Madrid". It will always be the case.
I used to come overto Spain to watch Madrid many years ago. In fact my brother in law Laurie Cunningham played for you guys back then, and thats where I got my free tickets from. His time with your club has left me with a soft spot for Madrid anyhow and I'll never forget the atmosphere of the stadium or the wonderful way in which he was treated by the club. Even as his guest I was afforded fantastic hospitality whenever I came to the Bernabau. I remember those days with great fondness and emotion. I hope that soon Madrid will regain internally the ambience, solidarity and friendliness that was once a hallmark of this great club.
MaestroZidane...thanks mate. Yeah we do look more settled this season. So far since Roman took over, we have chopped and changed the squad every season which does not, in the short term make for a settled situation. I know we have bought in players this season but they have been mostly for cover, and should not disruptthe side too much. In fact they are being used to enhance it I think.
A settled squad is important as everyone knows. Also no club wants a player around who does not want to stay. Robben, according to Jose, still figures in his plans for the season once he is fit again. He still values him as a player as do we all, but if he wants out then let's see him give up this underserved £2 million, put in a transfer request and leave.
I think it is true to say that before Malouda came it would have been unthinkable to see Robben go, but with Malouda, Joe Cole and an up and coming Scott Sinclair, who is in my opinion a star in the making, we will survive without him. Personally I hope he stays and shows that he is worth a big pay cheque, but we will have to wait and see what happens.
Anyway....we play Reading tonight. Steve Sidwell returns to his old club and we confront the psycho that is Stephen Hunt. I hope Cech accidently gives him a massive kick to the nuts and puts him out of the EPL for 4 months.
Karma......:amika:
