what do you guys think of this formation?

Very offensive left wing, unbalanced. I'd chance essien with makelele, put lamps in front of him, and put SWP/Cole for makelele, but at the same line with Malou. Or, simply put, I 'd change your formation.

----essien--------lampard----

this would give more freedom to essien and lampard to go forward and create more chances. but the downsize is that drogba plays better with another striker beside him

or a more radical change which will never be used

carvalho----alex------terry
-----------essien--------
swp------lampard-----a.cole
-----j.cole----malouda-----
-----------drogba----------
this would be a very difficult system to implement, but if the team was used to it i think it could have some good results. but would be a huge risk and mourinho is a very conservative manager

The first one is good, the second one isn't. If you change A.Cole for Essien, it could work, but in that case, it would be better to have Essien with Makelele, then Lamps, then Malou/SWP/Cole, two of them, with a striker with Drogba.

if wrote makelele instead of essien but already edited it
essien can't play as a left winger. he can play in many positions but not as a left winger
with this tactic chelsea would have the creativity that i think has been missing for a long time
but as i said it will never be used

Read my post again, and you'll see that I didn't say left winger for Essien. Anyway, Essien could probably become anything on the field if he was trained for it. He played very well as a defender, ands we've all seen him offensively. He's one of the most versatile players in the world right now.

you said "If you change A.Cole for Essien", and as cole was a left winger in my tactic and obsviously thought you you're saying this, but apparently you were....
and yes, hes's one of the most versatile players in the world, but he couldn't effectively play in that position. a left attacker can be right-footed because he can turn to center of the field and use his right foot. a left defender has to be left-footed because they normally just appear as a support to the lef attacker and they have to cross the ball with the foot of the side in which they are, the left foot

about the formations, is nice to see your ideas, but I was reffering to possible better formations.
for example, carvalo is out right now, so he cannot be in the starting eleven.

I feel sorry for Ballack, and I could understand why all the Germans are upset by this move.....Ballack really should come out and say something to cool things, I think he would've known that this would cause a rift between country and club........Chelsea could've included him in the list but went with the more safer option for him as well as the club by including players who are expected to be fully fit during the group stages........I hope this doesn't make Ballack lose confidence in the club, we've still yet see the best of him here......

They should include him for the knockout stages! seeing as they are allowed to add three players to the list once Chelsea reaches the knockout stage. Ballack is a very important figure for us in the Cl because of his experience in the competition. I think the current squad can manage in the group stage even tho Valencia and Shalke are no push overs.

Why has Sheva been thrown under the bus this season? He played for Urkaine today and scored, hasn't he been healthy for quite some time now?

I read Chelsea will be without Lampard and Drogba for the game against Blackburn. It could be a very difficult game for Chelsea.

Well, this would have been a difficult game even WITH Lamps and Drog in the team. We have plenty of cover though so I dont see any reason to worry.

Carvalho, Bridge and Ballack are still not available for Chelsea. Roque Santa Cruz, Benni McCarthy and Aaron Mokoena are having fitness tests for blackburn, before the game.

Sheva's back and fit for the first time this season. Forhis sake, (and mine), I hope he shines today.

As long as we extend our unbeaten home record to 66 games, with a win hopefully, then that'll do me.

Ten points after five games represents Chelsea's worst start to a Premier League campaign in five seasons. On the other hand, Rovers have made their best start to a Premier League season since promotion in 2001.

BUT....what do we care about statistics huh?...... This is Stamford Bridge. We are Chelsea and we WILL win today.(Y)
