this year isnt about winning the prem, as much i would like to believe it , it seems Abramovich is using this yr to instill attacking football and then is ready to bring in stars like the rumor of Ronaldhino . Now its still early in the year but we lack the edge and w/out Mourinho the motivation will be hard to come by , but i dont know how motivational Grant is , well just have to wait and see. But todays game honestly loooked like ... lets take these star players put them on the pitch and let them play, looked like a pickup game in the park. Thier was no real structure to our play, many players made alot of mistakes like giving the ball away, Joe Cole was my man of the match by a mile . Champs league tho, its anyones ball game. Looking foward to Valencia.

Grant is a mess.
i cant say much bcuz i dun watch the game but seriously i do think it was another nightmare for chelsea.

i dunno y grant dropped malouda over kalou
+ playing two defensive minded midfielder on the centre[sidwell- i cant say tht sidwell is an attacking mid.& of course maka]
(i know our choices are quite limited)

but i guess that he said before the match that he will send out 5 attacking players on the field

if he want to do that,
he shud use joe cole as a backup of the two strikers while malouda & kalou on the wings.

plus, now i do think that sinclair > sheva.
yea it sounds funny but sheva is more like a clown now based on the numbers of match report that i read

syaz_wan, stop it with the "not because he's an israeli" thing, its the second time i heard this, u make it sound obvious that yer don't hate him because he's an Israeli but it looks like yer actually do.....

Back to Football:

I agree with Dipset. It looked like Avram just picked out the players and told them to just go out there and play. There was no organization in the team, horrible, horrible set pieces(Avram, u should let them practice corners and free kicks more).....and the crowd chanting Jose's name is really not helping....the more u chant the more disarray the team is in......., face it fellow Blues, he's gone.....
i think we need a change against Valencia, attack-wise, now that where stuck with Ben Haim and Alex.......Put in SWP and Sinclair/Malouda for Kalou and Sidwell, that'll add pace in our attack....but it just shows that we miss Lamps today....Sidwell had a chance to shoot from 20 yards but passed instead, if it were Lamps, we all know what he would've done....
Then again, we were lucky to escape defeat, Kamara and Konchesky had glorious chances to win at the death....

Nah, Schev isn't that bad. He doesn't score probably because he isn't being used well enough (I don't know, I don't know enough about tactics to say whether he is or isn't) but I do know that he still contributes and goes out to the wings a lot. He gets the ball and uses it but he's never going to score from midfield, he needs the ball delivered to him near the box, sorta like van Nistlerooy.

And I really don't think that Grant know how to even play attacking football judging by his midfield selections. I think he just tells the players 'attack and go forward at every oppurtunity' before the match.

nah then i'd hate to see benayoun&sahar in the premier league.
take it easy dude but the fact that i hate avram is true but not becuz he's an israelian whtever. as i said , i'm just sick of his player selection.
now, liverpool fans can boo us back if we boo on them over benitez rotation policy.

to make things clear, my points are:
-the player selection is a mess.
-sheva.. this guy seriously need a lot of practice.he's funny.
i read on BBC&goal.com that sheva do nothing for this match.
-&& the fact that IF he(avram) wants to blame "we play 10 men", then i'd say mourinho will push whtever to win the team was down to 10 men

avram need to be replaced.
he cant produce the so-called attacking football.

Well, I thought t was a cracking game to be honest. Yeah it was the familar story of us peppering their goal with missed chances, and it was a dissapointment that we didn't put at least one away, but at least the unbeaten run at home continues.

Its been just over a week since Jose left, and I think its absurd that people expect to see a seamless adjustment. This is Grant's SECOND league game in charge FFS, and some fans need to be realistic and realise that not only will it take time for the players to settle down, but also time is needed to allow Grant and the players to work together too.

Grants system might have looked a little unbalanced but the guy needs to see all the players that he has at his disposal, actually play.

I cannot believe how some fans expect instant results after 2 games in charge.

Sheva's contribution was good today and NO, he didn't get booed when he was substituted. Quite the opposite in fact, he was applauded. I heard some boos coming from the "prawn sandwich brigade", although for the life of me I couldn't see what they were booing at. They are tossers anyway. These same pricks began to leave 15 minutes from the end too. I hope they don't bother to return to be truthful.

They were also the pricks singing Jose's name through the game and it was cool when some better fans tore down the Jose banner they were sitting behind. That shut them up.

Drogs red card was a blow. He was unsurprisingly rusty after his layoff and the ref over reacted in my opinion. His foot was high but it wasn't dangerous. Ah well he'll get a little more rest for his knee now, so thats cool. He worked his socks off though and deserved the applause when he had to walk.

The injury to JT is a bastard but hopefully they will fit him with a protective mask and he'll play on. We need him there for the England games too.

The problem is, we have a lot of fans who only began following us when we were winning and playing well, and now we are having a hard time they can't handle it.

Personally I couldn't give a toss if we don't achieve much this season. For me the important thing is that we get through this mess in one piece. I've experienced more downs than ups as a Chelsea supporter and it amazes me that after having 3 pretty good seasons, suddenly everyone expects the status quo to be maintained. Even when the coach walks out they still expect more of the same. That's not just unrealistic, thats stupid, dumb, ignorant and pathetic.

Grant is right when he say's that MOST of the fans are behind the club. They are. Its a small minority of newbies that are not helping the situation. We would be better off if they just simply decide to go and follow some other team. Thats what glory hunters are supposed to do after all.

Syan.....I know sometimes that the media is all you have to keep up with the Chelsea news, but take it all with a pinch of salt mate. They hate Chelsea generally so if they see any opportunity to put us down, they will do that with gusto. You need to ignore it.

C'mon you BLUES........:fluffy:

Yah, specially the stuff about Schevchenko. I think of him as Miroslav Klose - the goals although he always seems to bag them with the Ukranian national team. And try checking out www.myp2p.eu if you don't get Chelsea games or you could download them about a day-3 after they happen in tv-like quality from a torrent site like btjunkie.com

Drogbas got ups , boy can jump.

Mourinho chants dividing the supporters making it more of a mess.

VALENCIA - CHELSEA WEDNESDAY

Well Drogba sending off did seem dodgy....if yer think about the first yellow+second yell = red formula then its all wrong......i'll get this straight, the second yellow was a DEFINITE YELLOW but the first yellow was dodgy, it was more Drogba complaining to the ref for a penalty appeal turned down, and he got booked for his troubles......but its frustrating if yer compare the two yellow cards, first of all, unless Drogba actually swore to the ref, then he didn't deserve a yellow card, we've seen referee just ignore penalty appeals rather than book players......they need to be consistent on this matter

Sorry if im being a bit whiny, but i just hate the fact that we're gonna lose one of our influential players for the next game over this stupid yet simple matter.....some referees need to learn common sense....its easy for players to get frustrated if decisions don't go their way....they are humans with emotions after all....:P

btw, Belletti going forward reminds me a bit of Shifty Petrescu, anyone remember the Mulder(X-Files) look-alike? or is it just me who thinks they're similiar.......XD

Zakov, referee and common sense and consistancy, are three words that just do not go together man. We are all aware that the standard of officiating in the EPL is at the lowest ever.

Drog must have insulted the ref in some way otherwise that yellow was way out of order.

West Ham had a perfect goal disallowed yesterday by the same linesman that disallowed Kalou's goal against Blackburn.

Wigan had a blatantly ONSIDE goal disallowed yesterday too against Liverpool.

That allowed Arsenal and Lverpool to take all 3 points when it was not deserved, and we were robbed of 3 points against Blackburn. I can understand mstakes being made sometimes but IN EVERY GAME THAT IS PLAYED?

Positive decisions for United, Arsenal and Liverpool, but negative decisions for Chelsea. Doesn't that stink of something to you? It does to me and it aint paranoia. These incidents are FACT.

Did you see the tackle by Noble against Hleb? That got Noble a yellow card. Whearas Mikel got a red for the tackle on Evra that was far less dangerous.

I'm not having a go at any of the clubs concerned but something has to be done about the officials. This has reached a ridiculous stage where almost EVERY game is now being decided by the ref.

And what have the FA to say about it? Fu<k all.

Its about time that managers and coaches that have been cheated out of points make their views heard too. I cannot bekieve how impotant they behave. They have no bottle at all. They are too scared of what the FA might do to them. The LMA,(league managers association), are led by a prick called Howard Wilkinson who is the FA's chief <o<ksucker, so the FA have it screwed down tight whatever way it goes.

To say that these decisions even themselves out over a season is just FA crap. Anyone who believes that is either stupid or on the positive end of most of the mistakes.

Have a happy Sunday football fans......:fluffy:

reading the news papers after watching the match was horrible today.....the media tend to notice only a few idots in the crowd, most of the real chelsea fans where applauding sheva when he was subbed......
some of Grant's decisions have left me suprised...how can he play sheva in the hole between the attack and defence when everyone knows that he is a
in the box striker

pede54

Team Captain
You should do what I do Mannu. Don't buy or read any newspapers. I honestly do that. The media have their own agenda when it comes to Chelsea so WTF do you wanna read any of that crap for? You know it's gonna be negative so why bother to read it in the first place.

Even MOTD, or actually it was that scouse depressive <unt Mark Lawrenson, said last night that Chelsea hardly had a shot on goal against Fulham, and that was AFTER everyone had just seen the game and everyone knew that what he said was crap.

Really mate, if you take any notice of sports writers or TV "personalities", you will end up suicidal. Dont read any of it is the only answer man.

Zakov

Senior Squad
yup, fu<king true there mate,i find it hard to look at any newspaper nowadays, like i said before, having a go at Chelsea is the trendy thing to do right now as far as tabloids are concerned......don't bother man.........
that aside, JT's had a surgery, hopefully he'll be back soon(don't think he'll make the Valencia game tho).....

Ok you say there is something dodgy about the reffing. But than you mention the Yellow card from Noble on Hleb that should have been a straight red. Had we played a 10 man west ham we would have crushed them.

And don't forget that the linesman dont have the ability to see the play in instant replay. I thought Lljunberg was offside as it happened. It took more than 3 or 4 replays to see that he was on by centimeters.

But this is how I felt last season whenever Henry would be onside by a mile and get called offside. It doesn't happen to just Chelsea bro.

Zakov

Senior Squad
yes, thats true, it doesn't just happen to Chelsea mate...but the reason we brought it up was because we felt it was time to cut down the controversial decisions by referee, a football match should be determined by players on the pitch not the man in the black.....referees need to improve their performances, take someone like Collina as an example....about the offside(goal decisions) and goal line thing...i'd definitely think we need technology(in the future), we have it tennis and rugby but why not football?

Well thats not guaranteed is it BJ? A ten man side can just shut up shop and thats that.

This seasons directive from the FA was to give the benefit of the doubt to the attacking players in those situations. They actually said that it's better to not give an unsure offside than to disallow a perfectly good goal. Why are the officials ignoring that directive?

But this is how I felt last season whenever Henry would be onside by a mile and get called offside. It doesn't happen to just Chelsea bro.

Nah I appreciate that man. All I'm saying is that its about damned time that the FA sorted this crap out once and for all. It is getting worse and worse.

more bad news, im hearing Steve Clarke is set to leave after Bolton, because Grant is going to bring his own backroom staff obiviously if this is true which i think it is, itll be terribel.. cuz Clarke breathes Chelsea, hes played for the club and has been here for 11 years. But it'll seem like getting rid of Clarke will rid any traces of Mourinho .
