There was a Pressconference this afternoon at the Ajax Arena Stadium where Ten Cate denied any business with Chelsea, he's calling it rumours and 'fairytales'.
There is no deal what so ever! were his exact words.
So nothing is certain yet but I think it will be after the weekend though..

Pete mate how are ya :)
Sick about the defeat yesterday but life goes on I guess :S

Hiya Martijn ol' mate. Yeah the away goals thing is crap in my opinion. I've never been a fan of that concept at all.

So maybe the Ten Cate thing is just more rumour and crap put out by the media huh? It does not surprise me one little bit mate.

Hope you are ok man, and your family. Did that cat ever return home? You still with that stunning Romanian beauty you lucky dog.

Grant has now admitted interest, its on Sky Sports.

im positive bout this one 110% , i'll put my car on it, hes coming to the bridge if not soon but he'll be thier come next year. Obviously hes not gonna talk about a move to Chelsea because HE has contract with Ajax, it just tells you wat kinda man this guy is..... a very professional one, and rightly so , he has too much respect for Ajax to say something like that. But HES coming im 100% sure, it just makes sense Romans top football advisors are dutch and they know Ten Cate personally.

im really Lovin this moveee

Er... on the other hand, I'm a bit sad at the lack of Dutch player's on the squad, but I never knew his 'top advisers' were Dutch. They do...how the $*@& do NZ and Australia get knocked out in the same day by Northern Hemisphere teams...like their attacking football those Dutch.

yeah bro, that wat it seems, Piet de Visser is the main scout for Abramovich, not only that Visser is a legend in scouting talent , this is the same dude who scouted Ronaldo, Romario and many greats. So it makes sense that inorder for Abramovich to make a dynasty for Chelsea he will need future talent, so thats why Visser is very high in his ranks . This also ties up the PSV Chelsea deal, Visser is very tight with PSV , Visser scouted for PSV for like 20+ years , so it was Visser who was able to make that agreement work , where Chelsea will buy some upcoming talent, and then they will send him to PSV to be developed. Frank Arnesen is the sporting director, hes involved in the youth policy. Abramovich liked emphasizing on scouts and youths because its a key part of a great club, its to produce players for the future so the club can remain competitive for many years. Abramovich built Cobham training facility, state of the art, not only is it for the players but its for youth players who can practice 24/7 , no other club in UK offers this service. What Abramovich is doing is genius. He counts on these guys and these guys especially Visser gives him advice.
Im 110% positive Ten Cate will be coming, he denied about joining Chelsea this year and that he wants to win the domestic title with Ajax. But im thinking the agreement between the two is that if Ten Cates Ajax are out of the title race then he'll join but if they are still in it, hes gonna stay at Ajax for the remainder of his contract. , he wants to honor his contract which i salute, he'll be joining us come next term im positive i can put my car on it.

I read on soccernet.com that he is coming and it's been confirmed, I think it was the headline a few days ago so he's coming for sure, it's not a rumour anymore.

Steve Clarke has just agreed and shook hands on a new contract with Chelsea, so he's going nowhere. Good job too. I like Clarkey.:)

Looks like Drogba has made it official that he wants to leave, and "has felt that way since his arrival"?? I find that comment interesting.

yup this Drogba story is no joke, Chelsea have put a statment on the website saying they intend to see Drogba fulfill his contract.

this is not good. Chelsea will have to release him because to have a player that doesnt want to play for the club threatens the moral.
Honestly i see him going to Milan with Mourinho joining them in the summer. I think Mourinho and Drogba have had some convos, and if Mourinho arrived in Milan and then wanted Drogba its obvious Chelsea wouldnt sell it to them. But now if Drogba comes before Mourinho arrives then its still legit.

this is effed up,Drogba can piss off and ne other player who doesnt want to be here, BUT with this said, Chelsea gotta start from scratch IF what he says is true about dressing room being messed. Get rid of the players who are threatning the moral , let them go, even if its cheap cuz Abramovich can afford it, and then bring in players who want to be here. and play for the club. Honestly i would like to see a different manager than Grant, im throwing out my honest view here, if i were a top quality player and chelsea and other clubs wanted me would i really want Grant to be my manager, no i wouldnt, I wouldnt be too sure of Grant i would probably be thinking he might be able to make me better but he might hinder my growth. But obviously it would be a different story if its Hiddink or a proven manager, thats only MY view, but my wish is to get a different manager, Im backing Grant 100% for this season, he can stay at Chelsea i dont care but i would really wish if Roman can get us a proven manager. , thats my wish, ten cate was a great a move and good first step.

Part of the issue is, how do you know which players "want to play for the club" and which players are there for the money?

I mean, in football today, everyone says it's their boyhood dream to play for whoever signs their cheques....

It's not that hard to assess whether a player is commited to the club. Attitude and peformances are usually the indicators. It's very hard to fake commitment to a club, it's rather there or it isn't. Take John Terry for example, he lives and breathes Chelsea. He could say he loved the club, but if he clearly isn't making the effort on the pitch, then does his words even count ? On the other hand, I think Drogba will still play good for Chelsea, because hes a professional. But he can't fake his feelings, and has made them clear through words rather than effort and peformances.

dip.....before you get too upset man, why not wait until Drogba has confirmed or denied the "story"? If the whole thing turns out to be a pile of crap, you will have stressed out for nothing mate.....:)

If it is true, the story actually says that Drog will not leave until the end of the season. Well by that time you'll be needing a new shirt anyhow man;)

FACTUAL bad news.....JT and Ashley could be out for up to a month. That is not good. It'll be up to Ricci to control the defence and I presume that Alex will get some game time at last. We have the players so it's up to them to perform.

'Boro this weekend. Don't need to say how good it would be to win this one. Drog with a hat trick should tie it up nicely.:D

First game with Grant, Steve and Henk ten Cate on the bench. I am pleased to see someone like Henk as part of the coaching staff at Chelsea. The way he likes football to be played fills me with anticipation for the future. :)

C'MON U BLUES.......:rockman:

Drogba has confirmed he did admit to wanting to leave. But now says he regrets saying it. It looks like he'll be leaving at the end of the season though.
