Oh, you didn't bump Nemernicu. His name means asshole!? That's funny.

Ridiculous that was your reason for not playing him Horatiu - especially as you did it yourself. I'd suggest that means the whole side shouldn't be played.

I never bumped anyone with FMRTE, I don't like doing that. My cheating was using Genie Scout, which I admitted a while ago.

It ends up doing the same thing. You sign a guy for next to nothing that you know will become a great, or you up a guy's PA so that you know he'll become great.

I don't change actual attributes, only ever CA and PA

PS. Sorry, as Shifty already showed by assuming the same thing, your reply implied you changed Nemernicu

This is like a doping scandal. Pablo basically coming out and admitting that his side's cheated over the years :p

Nemernicu didn't start at Barca, he started at Dinamo. Cklamovski went to Chelsea. Munoz left the club when his contract expired. He's now at City.

Yoyo, I'm not convinced of your Nemernicu theory.

You're implying his name would have been changed, which is a pain in FMRTE. To do that, it changes everyone in the database sharing that name entry. The new name also needs to be the same length as the old name, otherwise you get strange behaviour with spaces in news feed items about that person.

I know because in my current game I renamed a chairman, and his name is shorter, so it looks strange

JCV is not particularly ambitious with his transfer policy, but the results are still there. Nemernicu is retiring in the summer. Personally I think he could still be a star and don't know why JCV relegated him to the reserves in the middle of last season. Juric's attributes are slipping fast; he's also in the reserves and probably does deserve to be there. Turns 38 in the summer. Wouldn't surprise me if he retired too, which would be the end of all 3 legend careers and maybe be the end of my holidaying through. I know Az said he wanted to see the career of Sandor/Aerts and the rest of that generation, but Vinet has sold almost all of them! It's also getting harder as some of the Chelmsford players' attributes are being hidden behind the fog of war.

Hmmm I don't remember it being that difficult to change names when I used to experiment with it. Just because it's in your current game doesn't mean it applies to previous editions. W/e

Always the case with AI managers. No loyalty out emotion in decisions. They also are terrible at keeping a bit squad happy, rotating etc

No, it's always applied. You can just overwrite the name, but if it's a shared name it overwrites that name in the database. It's the way SI have the DB set up. They would have a field for first and last names in the database, and this isn't added to once a game starts.

Shifty, we could follow new Chelmsford players they decide to get. I'm curious to see what Vinet does once he finishes his squad clearance.

To be fair, that's much more realistic. Managers get crucified in real life for not playing their best players in every game.

The fog of war makes it hard, but I guess I could take attribute updates by some crafty save-reloads by adding a new manager and scouting them and then going back to where I was before adding the new guy. Vinet has brought in 2 very promising young players.

It wouldn't even be a squad clearance. The AI doesn't plan like that. It'd simply be a guy had an offer made for him, and Vinet could replace him in the current squad so sold. Or guys got annoyed at wasting away on reserves, complained and were sold.

It's not like this AI Vinet has decided to clear out the squad to bring his own touches to it. It's simply a bigger squad than the AI usually deals with

No fog of war is another thing that puts me off the new game. Can't believe Juve plays with that off!!

It's not bad if you start in a small league and plan to buy random nationality players from all over the world, as your game mission.

Yeah, but I don't that. If I start in a small league, I want it to be realistic and only buy players I've scouted/an allowed to scout etc. That's what I did with my Sydney FC game I'm playing at the moment.

Means it's so exciting when you find a gem (like the Mexican striker I signed after the U19 World Cup!)

Tried to bring him to Peterborough with me, but stupid Brits didn't give him a visa

In true Vinet fashion, Chelmsford went out of the Cups very early, wrapped up the league fast, and lost their last 3 games of which Vinet does not seem to care at all.

Here are the transfers. Toon Aerts just the latest casualty.

Jim Juric played one game this season, matchday 38, and hilariously scored in the 2nd minute. He has not set a retirement date yet, and it would not surprise me if he signed somewhere else when his contract expires instead of just retiring.

Here are the stats. I sorted by Average Rating this year instead of appearances so I could highlight how ridiculous it is to me than Nemernicu is retiring

Anyway, this is what the table looked like.

Vinet lost the Club World Cup Final to Palmeiras this year, but at least he beat the Asian representative 9-0 this year.

The really big news is that the streak is finally over thanks to Boris Nsingi and Real Madrid. It's ironic because Chelmsford has had a lot of lucky wins over the last 15 years, and they go out in a game they probably should have got the result!

The first new European Champion in 15 years is... Manchester City! Led by Cirillo, Munoz, Deliminkov, and Dunn. Munoz arrived at Chelmsford 1 month after we won our first CL title.

Most of the players you don't recognize in the stats sheet are 26-28 year olds that Vinet has brought in. The two exceptions are these two promising young players.

Benton in particular is going to be the next great Chelmsford star and looks like an incredible bargain. Benton was Castro's final signing in the summer of 2029 and cost 2m.

The really big news is that Morgan's contract expires this summer, and it looks like Vinet is going to allow him to leave on a free as well. Morgan has wanted to leave since Pablo was manager, but for Vinet to let his best player slip away is wide scale incompetence.

E: Juric has signed on for his final season and will retire in the summer of 2034. He will be 38.

Munoz almost had a ridiculously good Champions League record then!? Still to win with Chelmsford so many years on a row, then win the first year away from them is pretty handy!
