His hands were above his head and they blocked the ball, its clear cut but I can see how it was missed (not decided against)

Look at harry kewells red card and penalty in the last world cup, that was harsher than rafaels would have been and it was still the correct decision

A referee can't judge intentionality, all handballs are fault.

Bullshit. Sergio Ramos also "handed" the ball in the box in the same game but no one made a fuss about it.

In my opinion neither were penalties.

Help?

Deliberate does not mean with intent. Players in a free kick wall can't close their eyes and put their hands in the air

Deliberate means intentional according to thesaurus

The word "deliberate" was added to the rule a few years ago, since then unintentional handballs are not considered fks.

Players in a fk wall that lift their arms up are intentionally raising them to block the ball. their natural arm position is down when standing in a wall.

When you jump you naturally raise your arms to shoulder level to help with the leap.

jesus christ, surely you went for a header at least once in your life...

Everyone knows that the standard is "did it hit the arm/hand?" not "did they mean to hit it with their arm/hand?" It is beyond well established in the pro game in every league.

welbeck and giggs were amazing. This team will go far in the future we got some crackers coming through.

Its just a shame we got a red card but these things happen, these reds and penalties tend to balance out over time.

I think we would have scraped that if it wasn't for the send off, we had so many chances through the game.

Was kinda disappointed RVP didn't score on his chances, on another day he would of buried some of them.

Credit is due to reals keeper, he was epic!

Reals attack wasn't all that before the send off, Alonso and Ronaldo were kept well under control. Real pummeled us directly after the send off, pity we couldnt contain them but thats almost impossible with teams of this quality with a man down. The same would of happened vice versa.

Pretty sure Ramos's "handball" was him holding his hands behind his back as the ball hit the side of his arm.

Why are you arguing about such immaterial things, we got over run, and reals keeper was on excellent form.

We'll have em next time :D

I'm really gutted about this, I really think we could of won this game. The tactics seemed sound, imagine if Nani hadn't been sent off and you had Kagawa and Rooney to come on.

I dont think there anything in this rubbish about Rooney not being picked started by keane. It was a purely tactical.

O well time to focus on the League & FA Cup.
