Randomized sliders create realistic CPU error and less predictable CPU AI, while also toning down the game's speed, by default, to a more realistic level. As of the last release, and the coming one for the newest EA update, users are able to customize the randomization settings.

I've got ball physics and player ratings in mind next and is what I'll attempt to tweak this throughout my vacation.

Pirlo, thanks for all the great work you do.

Is it possible to add/edit the AI in a way so that they pass the ball backwards more in general, as well as back to the GK? I'm looking to play career mode games in real time (that is, 45 minute halves) and right now there are too many wild shots for it to be realistic. It would also be cool if the AI stopped and thought for a second when there isn't defensive pressure in their face.

Not sure, but I think ini and db edits will help you out in that circumstance. Check Paul's, Fidel's, and FifaCCitiu's thread in regards to this.

I might be able to find some ASM code in the exe to produce the desired effect, but not banking much on this as the exe is quite protected as is.
