What CD/album means the most to you, and why?

I'm talking about the one album that you never get tired of, the album that raises the hairs on your back when listening to it, an album that you would bring to a desert island (if you could only bring one, of course).

No essentials, greatest hits, mixes etc.

For me it has to be:

Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction

1. Welcome to the jungle **
2. It's so easy *
3. Nightrain **
4. Out ta get me **
5. Mr Brownstone **
6. Paradise city ***
7. My Michelle **
8. Think about you **
9. Sweet child o' mine ***
10. You're crazy **
11. Anything goes **
12. Rocket queen ***

This was my first "real" album, and I got it when I was about 8 or 9, and it's been my favourite ever since. I remember we had this thing in school where we were supposed to bring our favourite album and play our favourite track on it, and this was the one I brought (having Mr. Brownstone as my favourite track back then).

I've listened to it for about 12 years now, and I ain't tired of it yet, and I don't think I ever will be, with classics such as Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Sweet Child O' Mine and Rocket Queen. The other songs on the album are all great as well, and this is real rock n' roll! The best album in the world IMO.

Not only are the songs quality, but it holds very well together as an album. With the exception of "Within You, Without You", the tracks on this album range from great ("When I'm Sixty-Four", "Good Morning") to brilliant (pretty much everything else). "A Day in the Life" is possibly my favorite song ever.

1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (9/10)
2. With a Little Help from My Friends (9/10)
3. Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds (9/10)
4. Getting Better (9/10)
5. Fixing a Hole (9/10)
6. She's Leaving Home (9/10)
7. Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite (9/10)
8. Within You, Without You (5/10)
9. When I'm Sixty-Four (8/10)
10. Lovely Rita (9/10)
11. Good Morning, Good Morning (8/10)
12. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) (9/10)
13. A Day in the Life (10/10)

Appetite for Destruction used to be one of my favorite albums when I was younger, but my musical tastes have changed a bit since then. Still a great album though.

it may seem commercial or something, but this album has meant so much for me as a child. I went through hell to get it and then i fell in love with it. "Road trippin" is the first song i've ever tried to play on my guitar. Really strong bond with this LEGENDARY masterpiece.

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures (1979)

It's a slowburner but it's atmospheric charm wore through in the end.

Haha, I was just about to post Unknown Pleasures.

Oh, well...

2 I Started Something I Couldn't Finish
3 Death of a Disco Dancer
4 Girlfriend in a Coma

Haha (H)
Well, it's hard to point out one artist or one album, totally depends on the mood. I listen to everything from Oi! to expressionist classical music, lol.
